And like USA production, the next number indicates the year, such as "MN5" for Mexico 1995 or "MZ5" for Mexico 2005. In 2010 when Fender USA production serials switch to the "US" prefix (plus two digits for the year), Mexico production begins using an "MX" prefix which is still in use today.

April 3, 2017 - Click to expand... The current Fender list varies as new colors are released and old ones are discontinued. There are some strange entries like White Blonde is 01 and 13 There are 130 colors shown as of 4/24/2020 but the numbering scheme is from 00 to 99 so some are duplicated.

Thus, since 2010, Fender Stratocaster made in Mexico featured a serial number with the simple “MX” prefix followed by the last two digits of the year (e.g. “MX12” for 2012) in bold, plus 5 or 6 digits indicating the guitar.
