So, if your design is going to end up as an installed app, say on Apple devices, you'd want to ensure your design looks and feels natural across all form factors. 47 years old here fren. Jumped right in when Figma was all free and autolayout did not exist. Figma does not offer that snap-scroll-to-item interaction. You can fake it, somewhat, using smart animations between frames that have the same identical components except the item focused, but it's non practical and you must scroll one item at the time. Figma provides scrollable items and simple transitions, but is not very good at animation in general. Hope that helps. Even if you did manage, so what then.
