Increasing your pricing is far from borderline illegal. Don't you do it? Answer from kdaly100 on reddit.com

Shouldn’t this be borderline illegal? I get they are a large company and need to make money but honestly, at this point Adobe should have bought them because they are exactly alike. Both companies like to drain your funds for a software that designers require, over charging for their services.

r/FigmaDesign on Reddit: Figma’s payment structure is absolutely ridiculous
March 6, 2024 -

The ability to have multiple people edit the same document in real time is an incredible feature.

But given how they charge you additionally for every new user and for every new document, despite you and them already paying for a subscription, is frankly outrageous and ridiculous.

Instead of sharing files with collaborators I have to now go through the tedious and unprofessional process of downloading a local version and sending to them to edit and then send back.

Frankly it’s greedy and pathetic and takes what is an incredible piece of software and fills me with resentment.

I cannot wait for the cycle to turn again, for figma to become so expensive and bloated that people abandon it and it’s knocked off the top spot by something equally brilliant but far less greedy.

December 10, 2024 - ... Yes, I looked at it. They “updated” their pricing. Don’t know about your org, but mine is going to pay $30 more per month. I don’t complain, but they raised a seat price for designers.

December 10, 2024 - I'm really interested in the Connect Projects feature. We have to collab with our clients and other agencies all the time. So this will be very useful to help save costs of extra seats. Most of our clients have their own figma. ... The changes are a serious price increase.

I have to point that out as a daily Figma user - UX designer. The last year since they changed the pricing plans, Figma has become quite expensive for our work and company. Basically, the Collab and Dev seat is useless for design. So we need to have more Full seats for users that just need to change text for example in the design. This is crazy. Or did I miss something... We will have to think about workarounds or alternatives.

r/UXDesign on Reddit: A quick question about new Figma pricing
December 14, 2024 -

Hi designers,

I have one question. I just purchased an annual Professional subscription for my freelance side job. It’s cool. I’ve been meaning to do it for a long time anyway as I was using my company’s Figma so far for my side jobs(they’re cool with that) and devs managed with the old inspect view.

But the reason I did it now is because I need to add couple of developers as we are starting implementation phase of the project. And view mode is pretty much useless to them now.

I might’ve misunderstood, but am I not able to add dev seats on monthly subscription if I have annual subscription?

Project is done within couple of months and I will have no use those seats anymore.

Am I really expected to pay 2 annual subscriptions for effective 4 months of software use?

Or, hopefully, I can actually buy just what I need?

Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Thank you for all the help you might provide.

I’ve asked the same question on Figma sub and I really hope I have some clarity by tomorrow. As we need to move fast (of course):)

——— Update:

For anyone else encountering this problem, here is an answer, courtesy of u/jopzik (thank you again!)

"When you add extra paid seats throughout your annual subscription term, we’ll charge you a monthly subscription for just those seats. This helps you manage the cost of Figma if you have a portion of users who only need to pay for Figma for a short time."

r/FigmaDesign on Reddit: Annual plans renewed before pricing changes in March
January 2, 2025 -

I'm a bit confused with the pricing changes that'll go in effect in March. For example, if I sign up for an annual Figma Design seat today, will it be upgraded to a Full Seat after the changes take effect? And, if so, will they charge me more for that?

I read their FAQ about the pricing change and they say "Any renewals that happen before March 11, 2025 will be treated exactly as they would today, with Figma’s current billing and pricing.", but when I try to add an annual seat through my current account, they say I'll be charged the prorated amounts for monthly x2 (I assume February and March?), not telling me how much it'd cost for the actual yearly plan, so I'm assuming they'd charge me March's price once it kicks in. But if I try to create a brand new account and get an annual seat, I can get a regular Figma Design plan without a problem for $144.

Has anyone contacted them about a similar situation or has recently renewed their annual plan? Any insights would be appreciated!

Hey everyone,
I'm trying to figure out the pricing details for Figma Sites, and I can't find clear info on it. Does anyone here know how it's priced - whether it's based on pages, collaborators, features, or something else? Any insights or personal experience would be super helpful.

I'm currently using Siter website builder for building websites

Any insights or personal experiences would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

I'm a graphic and web designer and started doing some Figma freelance webpages on the side. I got only one client whose actually an aggregator and he gets me the clients. But it seems like he's ripping me off coz all the projects i get are of like very big influencers on Instagram(100k-500k followers) and I get paid around 30$ for homepage and even lesser for the other pages but I got no choice coz I don't have other clients. And he even got the client feedback that the designs i did for them are really great yet getting the same pay.

How much are you charging for your designs. Thanks

I love figma, I think it’s an amazing tool but Jesus Christ do they bleed you dry.

Every time I give access to a client to edit a project figma charge me $15 per month for each one which builds up to a crazy amount!

This means I have to then tell a client afterwards to essentially stop editing the file I provided for them or get there own account.

Figma is costing me more than create cloud now it’s crazy!

r/FigmaDesign on Reddit: I have graduated, and wanted to be a good user and pay for Figma, and this pricing seems odd
May 5, 2024 -

Hello, everyone.

Finally done with studies after completing graphic design bachelors and a UI/UX post-grad diploma. I wanted to be a good user and do my part after using Figma for free for few years.

Went to create a new file to start designing my portfolio website in conjunction with Framer, and noticed that the paid plan will only cover one design file? That can't be right.

For an instance, once I get a job I may be a member of a number of design files, so €24.60 per file? What if I also take on a side-gig, another €24.60? This can easily snowball into €100+ per month.

Do I have this right? Am I missing or misunderstanding something?
