Which would be the better purchase? There is a $150 price difference between them. The FiiO M11S has 3GB vs 4GB on FiiO M11 Plus ESS. Both have the Snapdragon 660 CPU. Both have Android 10. I am new to the audiophile world so I am looking for advice, thanks!

I made my choice and purchased these today:FiiO M11 Plus ESS for $650 as my portable DAP
Fiio K7 for $200 as my desktop DAC/AMP
From all the reviews I've read, these are great price-to-performance options.I'm hoping the FiiO M11 Plus ESS will last me at least 4 years without the battery failing or the Android OS becoming too old / unusable.
I see that Amazon also offers a 3 year portable electronic protection plan, so I might bite on that as well to hedge against battery failure within 3 years.

Great choice getting the M11 ESS, I have heard a lot of good things and the later Android version will do you well. I have the M15 (Android 7) and FiiO has been great with firmware updates and music player updates. Enjoy.

But it can get damn close, notably, if you choose sensible IEMs like the A&K/Campfire Pathfinder or the Shanling ME800. On the other hand, with the FiiO FF3 and FD7, the synergy is simply fantastic with just the right amount of spark, like Etymotic in the good old days. Head to head against the FiiO M11 Plus ESS, there are a few differences even if both share an ESS core.

Hi everyone, I need to choose between the FiiO M11s and the Fiio M11 Plus ESS to have a DAP that can also be used as a DAC between my computer and two KRK Rokit 5 speakers. I would like to know which of the two seems better because if there is little difference I will buy the M11s, which in my country is more than 200 dollars cheaper. I need it to be a DAP because I also want to use it when I travel with my Audio Technica M50xbt2. Do you think it is a good choice to go for one of the two? Which one would be the best for my case? Thank you!

If you can swing it, I'd go with the M11 Plus. Slightly bigger screen, better resolution, and a slightly bigger battery - but the battery usage does appear to be the same. I have a M11 Plus ESS, and I love it. TBH, I had the same dilemma, but stepped up to the M11 Plus.

Look according on my research the m11 plus is optimal, the battery capacity is great, and there will no redundant power like with m23 (if you are not using the high omh headphones). Also I found a video where fiio is tearing up ther m11 plus so you can also change the battery Why not m11s ? Less Ram( effect smoothness) Less battery capacity (less playback time) I think fiio m11 plus jus worh the price, also plus was released in 2022 so there a lot of user experience on the internet.
