One of the things that made me get a m11 was the fact that it can hold 4tb of data... and it also sounds really good. no AMP needed Answer from Deleted User on reddit.com

Review : FiiO M11 - So Far, So Good - Headfonia
May 17, 2020 - The installation is really easy, and compared to the FiiO M6/M9 which needed a computer, all you’ll ever need is a WiFi router. Airplay is still supported so you can stream your music from your iPhone/iPad directly through the FiiO M11, wirelessly.

I am sadly going to be returning my M11 but hope to return to the DAP scene if FiiO decides to just take a Samsung Galaxy S8 and shove audio into it. Hardware Find some pictures of my player below. FiiO's marketing materials on this device are better than anything my iPhone can take so check those out for sure.

FiiO M11S Review - Headfonia
January 12, 2023 - Size-wise, the FiiO M11S is kind of a surprise, if a tad smaller and narrower than the M11 LTD, the new player is also thicker, and heavier. It’s now 134mm tall, 75mm wide and 18mm thick, so just 0,4mm more, but with the added weight, this ...

r/FiiO on Reddit: Fiio M11 long run device Review
April 26, 2019 -

So I just wanted to jump in to here because I think that a lot of people are being misinformed on this amazing device because of old info. The M11 non pro is amazing, runs android, and as of the last firmware a few months ago has full access to the google play store. I have my 14000 normal songs, my full Spotify and tidal downloaded. Literally the only thing that could make me like this player more is if Apple Music would let me log in to it, yea there is a still a bug with Apple Music where you can’t log in, which sucks because I honestly listen to music the most from my iPhone on the go. This aside I absolutely love the M11 and it just makes everything sound so freaken good. I have a 1000$ thx dac/amp combo for my full sized headphones that I really don’t even use much ever now, it’s all from my one device. I can literally plug the crappiest $10 earbuds I found in my closet into this thing and they somehow sound good, really good, like what is this sorcery? Then while I’m fiddling through music I find myself on the internet browsing on the player with my phone across the room, like why? But it just happens. I had Facebook on this thing but I unloaded it because I really just love this temple of music that I have going on with the M11 and I don’t want outside people messing it up with messages. 2 micro sd card slots so an easy 1tb of storage, device is stupid fast and responsive, the FiiO music app has actually grown on me, and O. The WiFi in this thing is just some alien shit from space because it is so fast that I just don’t get it. Downloads, files, videos, whatever is so so fast like I downloaded the same plug in on my laptop I phone and the M11. Guess what M11 took like 20 seconds, laptop took 5 min, iPhone X took 4. I don’t understand the WiFi magic they use but I want it on everything that I own it’s that good. Anyways I have rambled a lot but I’m an average dude, tested lcd i4’s, Samsung wh-1000xm3, lcd2f, blue coil earbuds, jbl sport earbuds, and whatever else I had laying around, all sound amazing. WiFi wise Sony 1000xm3 streaming in LDAC is legit as far as Bluetooth audio goes. I love this thing, it’s my baby. Love it so much that I just said fuck it and ordered the FiiO M6 and some FiiO earbuds so that I can switch from my Apple Watch/Powerbeats pro combo and workout with a wired connection. FiiO is doing amazing things for great prices and I love that Chinese company of geniuses. Also don’t get the M11Pro, smaller battery life, sounds literally identical to me, has only 1 ss card slot, aaand is way more money? Yea that’s a hard no. FiiO please for the love of god get Apple Music working on your stuff so that I can unreservedly buy every single product that you have k thx bye.

FiiO M11S | Headphone Reviews and Discussion - Head-Fi.org
October 7, 2022 - For those who aren’t so interested in the operating system and just want to have a music player, the M11S has the option to use the “pure music” mode, which is basically to enter the company’s music application and run files coming from the MicroSD card. You can easily return to Android by opening the notification bar and changing the current mode, or trying to minimize FiiO Music directly, and then you will receive a message if you want to return to Android.

FiiO M11S Digital Audio Player Hands-on Review: Entry Level Price, Flagship Sound | IBTimes
January 30, 2023 - What was once the most lusted-for gadget for music lovers, especially after the explosive proliferation of iPod in the beginning of the 2000's quickly saw its end when Apple's own iPhone was released including the function as a powerful digital audio player. However, in 2023, DAPs are still around, still relevant - alas not to the massive market as it had before, but to a niche audiophile crowd. The FiiO M11S is one of the latest creations from the Guangzhou hi-fi company, a model that will represent the most affordable DAP that FiiO plans on releasing for the next two years (According to its official statements).

I really like it a lot! The differences between the M11 and the M11 Pro are mostly in a slightly longer battery life, a larger internal hard drive, and a slightly better DAC and amplifier stage.

FiiO M11 - Review-FIIO---BORN FOR MUSIC
I used to never care for DAPs as they were either super basic in function or they ran like garbage performance wise next to my 3 year old Iphone X. This changed my views once I had the M11. The M11 is the fastest android DAP I’ve had the luxury to use but It’s still not quite up to that ...

June 4, 2024 - The only drawback with such a huge battery is that the player is a little heavy, about 295g as opposed to 240g for the largest available iPhone with a 6.7″ screen. As this is an Android-based player, you can use any music player available ...

FiiO M11 Review - Just Push Start
September 30, 2019 - At 7.4 ounces, it’s just under half a pound. This makes it 1.2 ounces heavier than my iPhone XS, about the same weight as an iPhone XS Max, 2.4 ounces more than the previous M9 and more than twice the weight of my Walkman.

FiiO M11S review
Because then you really will have everything required to nurture a serious-sounding digital music library and player. FiiO players we have tested in the past often major on features, and built-in storage aside the M11S is no different. A mostly admirable music player, but one that refuses to let its hair down

Fiio M11s Review - Major HiFi
December 20, 2022 - With this high-performance chipset, the M11S is able to decode up to 384kHz/DSD256 of audio data. This is paired with new dedicated amplifiers that are independently powered in an attempt to increase dynamics and power. Its OS is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 operating Andriod 10. The interface should be familiar to anyone that has used current Android phones. It’s hard to have a Fiio player that doesn’t have an engaging sound, no matter the price.

r/FiiO on Reddit: 1st DAP - Should I buy FiiO M11S ($500) or FiiO M11 Plus ESS ($650) ?
November 25, 2022 -

Which would be the better purchase? There is a $150 price difference between them. The FiiO M11S has 3GB vs 4GB on FiiO M11 Plus ESS. Both have the Snapdragon 660 CPU. Both have Android 10. I am new to the audiophile world so I am looking for advice, thanks!

Update:

I made my choice and purchased these today:FiiO M11 Plus ESS for $650 as my portable DAP

Fiio K7 for $200 as my desktop DAC/AMP

From all the reviews I've read, these are great price-to-performance options.I'm hoping the FiiO M11 Plus ESS will last me at least 4 years without the battery failing or the Android OS becoming too old / unusable.

I see that Amazon also offers a 3 year portable electronic protection plan, so I might bite on that as well to hedge against battery failure within 3 years.
