Hello everybody, after lurking a while I finally decided to create an account. After my daughter dropped my Fiio both outputs (3.5 mm and Line-Out) went silent.
Now I'm searching for a replacement with similar sound characteristics or "better" (I know, heavily subjective).
I already have a few players in mind but not sure which would be a good choice. There are:
Hiby R3 Pro Saber
Hidisz AP-80 Pro-X
Shanling M3X
iBasso DX170
Sony NW-A100 SERIES
You may recognize I'm searching on the more or less low-priced end of the spectrum...and in case my english didn't tell you yet I'm from germany, so availability is a point as well. :(
Regarding prize I'm tending for Hidisz and Hiby, from what I'm reading about all of these I think I would like the iBasso or Shanling a bit more, but for me personally they are to expensive.
Can anyone set one or more of them into comparison to my broken Fiio? And is there any no-brainer in your opinion? I'm also asking myself, wether it would be a good idea hunting for used Fiio's?
atm I have the option for an unused X5 Mark III but I'm worried that the quite old Android would annoy me. I'm also attracted to M9, M11 and X7 Mark II but they are only available as already used devices and in a price range between the Shanling and the iBasso.
Maybe some basic facts regarding my needs are interesting as well.
What I want is - like I already said - sound should be at least as good as the Fiio X3 mark II, I prefer a more or less neutral sound. I will be pairing the DAP with my KZ ZSN Pro In-ears as well as my AKG K-701 and sometimes a Bose Headphone 700 if bluetooth is available. A SD card slot is mandatory and at least 200 GB should be supported, preferably even bigger cards. Format wise I'm using my old mp3 collection (all 320 kbps) as well as my CD rips from the time when I had an iPod classic, those are in ALAC as well as I have some FLAC in combination with .cue files. For the future I am planning to start purchasing music from Qobuz in the highest available file format.
I am listening to all sorts of metal with a faible for Black Metal and Live Albums. But basically any kind of music using a distorted electric guitar gathers my attention, for example I love Live at Pompeii from David Gilmour and basically any song from the german band 'Die Ärzte'. And sometimes even some classical stuff sneaks onto my SD card.
So this is what I'm looking for. I'll be looking forward to any recommendation of you ^^
Edit: As I learend from another post here, sleep timers are not a matter of course, but for me a sleep timer would also be mandatory.
