Sign out and sign back in to your Apple ID in System Preferences
OK! I got it solved. To summarize the things I tried:
- Reboot (Did not work)
- Reboot into safe mode (Did not work)
- Sign out and sign directly back in to your Apple ID in System Preferences
That last one is what did the trick for me. I hope this help someone avoid hours of troubleshooting and time on the phone with Apple Support.

The following worked:
Find My Mac was mysteriously turned off. I don’t know how.
Turning it back on and ensuring all Location Systems were on allowed the beta update to run normally.
Still stumped as to how Find my had been deactivated tho.
