I used a tile saw and cut some. Worked fine. I also needed longer ones, so I just stacked them. You could probably do the same with an angle grinder and a diamond blade, but be sure to wear a good mask. More on reddit.com

It insulates the firebox rather than providing thermal mass to stabilise temperatures through the burn phases. It helps achieve clean burn temperatures quicker than trad firebricks and it’s handily easy to cut to size with pretty much any saw blade.. Not sure if it’s available in the US and Canada but it should be..
