So next month I am getting a patio made, and when that is done I would like to have a fire pit. I have seen these fire pit kits at menards where you buy all the material in one go.

Looked pretty good. Is 5ft wide good for a fire pit? Just want to have something to roast hot dogs, have some family sit around, and cook smores.
Also, Has anyone done the Menard's rebates? I really hate how they don't do sales and do this rebate crap, as I never really spend much when I go there so my rebate would only be like $5, and don't want to wait 8 weeks for a $5 check in the mail. Plus had a REALLY bad experience with rebates years ago when I tried to do one for a PC part. Sent them everything they asked for and they still denied me the rebate saying I didn't send everything. Bunch of BS, so really don't trust rebates anymore.
Is the Menards one a smooth process? Cause this fire pit I would get like $30 back and so might do it for that.

Home Depot does an 11% rebate if Menards is running one at the same time. HD’s is online though and they send you a gift card in the mail. I’ve never had an issue with menards for theirs though. Both of them are pretty much store credit.

Next, I put the fire ring partially in the ground and surrounded it with retaining blocks and wall caps and glued them into place. I laid the bricks in my own design, surrounded by edgers.
