The first actor to portray in the Harry Potter film series was Richard Harris. He played the role in the first two films, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002). Harris's portrayal was characterized by a calm, whimsical, and grandfatherly demeanor, with a soft vocal delivery and twinkling eyes, setting the tone for the early films. He passed away on 25 October 2002 from Hodgkin’s lymphoma, leading to Michael Gambon taking over the role for the subsequent films.

I can understand it tho, with all his success not wanting to only be remembered as Dumbledore… I know Harrison Ford was the same with Star Wars….
In the books, dumbledore is always so calm and not that serious or rude( kinda looney), like he was in the first 2 movies, but after he became so rude.
