What is a flat shipping rate?
Is this with USPS? When I would ship packages I would use the “Click N Ship” function. Basically you enter the dimensions/weight of your package and all of mine ended up being ~$8, but they were all relatively small. I think it was called “flat rate shipping” though. Good luck and wish I could help more!! More on reddit.com

Why is my international shipping so expensive (in comparison to others')?
I can think of two reasons. Different countries have different prices that may or may not be subsidized by their governments. They also might offer free domestic shipping, in which case some of the postage has been built into the product price, leaving them able to charge what seems to be below cost for international orders. Just a guess though, for comparison in the UK - smallest international postage to USA (large letter, say for jewellery) is £4.20 / $5.46 untracked, £9.65 / $12.55 tracked. More on reddit.com

r/Adulting on Reddit: What is a flat shipping rate?
February 23, 2021 -

So I'm trying to get a little small business running and maybe this isn't the right place to ask, but what the hell is a flat rate for shipping? I want to figure out how much extra i should charge for covering shipping costs and I keep trying to calculate it based on weight (since i don't know the address) and it gives me a "flat shipping rate". What does that mean? Is that like... X amount of dollars per pound per mile? Is that just the amount of money I pay, without it increasing at all? I keep asking around and looking for answers and i always come up empty handed. I just wanna make some money off of my art, help!!
