I’ve been a believer in Flexsteel but have never done too deep of a dive into upper end brands of furniture. When I found flexsteel it was exactly what I wanted at the price I felt was a good value so I’ve stuck with them. I have 2 Randall couches, the 2-3 seat versions, and a 5pc collins sectional w chase and ottoman that I love. Have held up to unspeakable abuse doled out by young children and pets. Not a creak.
Anyone have thoughts on flexsteel vs other comparable brands vs luxury?
We purchased the Flexsteel Flex 6 piece set in Taupe during the recent sale on Costco.com.*** Updated with our latest video of all pieces - 6 seats, 1 ottoman, 2 storage hubs, and 2 smart hubs.

We just received it and I made a short video of the assembly.

Here are our quick notes from 2 days of ownership. I had trouble finding any online feedback on this setup especially versus Lovesac which was the other couch we were looking at.
We debated for a month between the Flexsteel Flex and the Lovesac couches which were both on sale through Costco through Christmas.
We ended up going with the Flexsteel - here's a link to amazon as costco deletes the page after the sale ends - FYI amazon for some reason did have a few of these cheaper than costco for a while https://amzn.to/4fGlwDW-
Quick comments:
-
It comes with one corner piece which makes setting it up in a U not symetric because one corner has a gap and the other does not. We got by this by using the end arms as the sides of the U as you can see in the video. You also do not receive enough sides to do a full U and use the arm ends on the last seats therefore the laydown seats on the edges of the U are exposed, or at least one is.
-
It comes with a strong new furtniture smell my guess from whatever they apply to the fabric to keep it stain resistant. We immediately moved our largest air purified into the living room and have been running it, 2 days in the smell is calming down.
-
It's very soft and not to firm, and certainly nappable
-
The ottoman is sturdy and on casters that are a little less smooth then I would expect but are lockable
-
We've yet to receive the 2 smarthubs, and 2 storage hubs we keep receiving backordered emails from Costco pushing out delivery by 2 weeks.
-
The upper pillows are firm and comfortable, and contain a pillow in covering so no exposed foam when it comes time to wash the cover.
-
The seat cushions are comfortable and not very firm. They have a nice zipper but the inner contents are not wrapped in a pillow but rather center foam lined with softer foam, which can be removed for washing just over years may not standup as well as the pillows.
I'll update this with more details after we've lived with the couch.
Has anyone purchased or tried the Flexsteel modular sectional? It is at a pretty good price right now, but I have not found many reviews as it's a rather new product.

Hey all. Thinking about ordering a Flexsteel sectional from the website. It's not on display at my warehouse and it's labeled a "Costco Exclusive" so it's not going to be at any other furniture store. Some of the other furniture stores nearby carry other Flexsteel sectionals, but the price discrepancy is WILD. Seats six and performance fabric, just like the Costco one, but costs twice as much. I know some clothing manufacturers who do exclusive runs for Costco don't offer quite the same quality. How does Flexsteel stack up? TIA
I see they have new modular furniture such as (Link) and I am considering investing.
Hi all,
I am looking to get a new sectional as my $1000 Amazon sectional is simply not cutting it. I saw that Costco has some modular Flexsteel sectionals on sale right now. I’ve heard good things about Flexsteel but upon some research, I learned that Flexsteel was bought out by another company and their quality may have declined. I wanted to see if the BIFL community had any insight on this. Sectional shopping nowadays is exhausting (and expensive)!
Hi everyone, my wife and I are shopping for a new stationary sectional for our living room. While we know sectionals aren’t for life, we’d like something that will hold up for a good number of years. We currently have an Ashley Furniture one in there now but after 4 years it’s awful. The springs are shot and when laying down the wood digs into your back. The leather is coming apart in places and it’s just an overall piece of garbage and the furthest thing from BIFL.
We have one child who is still too young to be playing on the couch and 3 dogs who aren’t allowed on said couch when we are around. When we aren’t we know they lay on it. We love to watch tv and spend quality time together. The sectional would get daily use. We also aren’t small people. We both are bigger (weight and height) and would want something that will last unlike the Ashley sectional.
We recently began looking for a replacement sectional and are having trouble deciding on a good quality replacement. We believe we’ve narrowed it down to 3:
Bassit Moby Sectional
We really the feel of this one.
It’s the most expensive at $6500 from a local furniture store.
It’s also the biggest at 144”x144”. It’s about 12” bigger than what we wanted but think we could live with it.
Bassit seems to be a higher quality couch and comes with a 5 year protection and construction warranty.
La-Z-Boy Paxton Sectional
We like this one but we’re afraid that La-z-boy has turned into another Ashley quality store.
Midpoint for price at $6000 delivered from the store.
The size is perfect for the space at 127”x127”
The fabric is soft and laying on it was pretty comfortable.
The warranty is for “lifetime” of the sectional. Covers cleaning and any damage done to the sofa. They also said if they can’t replace it, we get the full cost back to use on a new sectional. Seems almost too good to be true.
Flexsteel Modular Sectional from Costco
We’ve heard great things about Flexsteel and it has some good reviews.
We’re unable to sit on this one since Costco doesn’t stock this sectional at our local warehouse.
It’s a bit small on one end 109”x140”.
It comes with a storage ottoman which we like and would use frequently we think.
Its the cheapest at $5000
If we really don’t like it, Costco has an amazing return policy. Just never used it for a large return like furniture before.
Sorry this was a long post. We are really struggling with a decision right now and any input would greatly help. If anyone has any experience dealing with these companies with respect to warranty issues or just general gripes and complaints please comment and let us know.
Also sorry for any formatting issues, I’m typing this on mobile.
