Trying to decide between a floating I or standing (shaker) vanity for my bathroom remodel. I love the look of floating but hesitant due to it being mdf instead of solid wood and having less storage space. Thank you.
So, we are remodeling a bathroom and have decided on a pedestal sink (I love, honestly.) and are having an incredibly hard time finding a vanity to put next to it that doesn’t already come with a sink. We could of course use a dresser or buffet of some kind, but we really want something with a ‘marble’ top. Not necessarily marble (could be that plastic counter top stuff, even) but just not wood really. So hard to find something like that that’s not 2000$ for a 30” wide vanity. Does anyone have any resources or ideas on where to find either a top to a vanity like that or some creative ways to make them? Thinking about doing a concrete top on a dresser or something but read those don’t hold up well?
We’re redoing our bathrooms and our old vanities are freestanding. Our plumbing goes down into the floor, not the wall, so we figured we’d do freestanding vanities again to hide it. Every time we go to a bathroom shop though, the salespeople try to convince us to go floating as that’s what’s in style at the moment, and apparently makes a small bathroom seem bigger.
Pros? Cons? Are they more expensive to install??
I dont see them as practical as you have to clean below it and it uses some space that otherwise could be storage. Not sure if I like the looks either. What do you guys think?
