Hi r/hometheater,
Looking for an option for a large TV Entertainment Center/Wall or console that will fit a 85" TV. Not finding a lot of options on Wayfair and other furniture stores for options that are geared towards large walls and TVs. My wall is 10 foot in width and 15 foot in height if that helps (it's a loft).
Looking for some modern solutions, such as floating console and wall paneling. Not opposed to DIY solutions either. Thanks in advance!

Why not just wall mount and add some floating shelves? Might also wanna look at some book shelves, they would probably be easy enough to modify.

Heck, if I had space and budget for an 85 incher right now, I'd wall-mount it and rackmount the entertainment center in the room next door. Yes, sireee! :D But in all fairness, if you do decide to wall-mount the TV, make sure you don't mount it too high up. You should be able to sit up straight when centre to top third of the screen is at eye level. That'll take natural couch reclining into account. (See r/tvtoohigh for examples on how to not do it.) A small, low-slung table or bench should be fine to perch the centre speaker right below the telly. Putting it on a wall shelf above it is also possible, but check the TV's manual for what kind of minimum clearance you need above it for heat dissipation first in that case. That way, you can get a media cabinet that's small enough to house what you wanna put in it, and large enough to provide ventilation to the equipment inside, and combining that with a good cable management system, you're free to place it elsewhere in the room. Maybe even next to the couch for convenience? Some photos of the room would be of help in coming up with other good ideas. :-)

I'm planning to buy an 85 inch TV and mount it to the wall in a new media room.
The wall is 11 feet wide (132 inches).
The 85 inch TV will be 74 inches wide horizontally.
I want to place a media console/TV stand underneath it. I don't have a lot to put in/on it. Front speakers, receiver, remotes, etc.
What's the optimum length of the "stand"? I'm seeing 80 inch stands that are advertised as good for an 85 inch TV, that means the stand would be six inches longer than the TV horizontal (3 inches on each side).
I'm also seeing 97 inch options, which would mean 13 inches longer than the TV (6.5 inches on each side).
What do you think would be a better option? Anything else I should consider when buying a media console/stand?

I got a besta from ikea. It's only about 15 inches high and gave me enough room to fit my center channel on the console under the TV and not have to mount my TV too high. But the best may vary based on your requirements and budget. I wasn't trying to spend $3k on a stand right now.

I had the same trouble. Almost all the minimalist ones are to small where the tv is wider than the console which is weird looking I settled on the admiral blue Hollis media console from West Elm. I have the wires running behind the wall into the back of the media console.
