The best way to get a title is if you are the registered owner of the vehicle or an executor of an estate, it is to give someone a power of attorney to sign for you at the state tag office. Then, the state will issue a duplicate title in your name. If you are not the registered owner with the state, the person whose name is in the title must secure it and sign it over to you as a buyer. I moved out of Florida a few months ago and am trying to sell my car but don’t have the title with the lien released. I found the release of lien paperwork that says to go to the DMV website to order my title, but it won’t send the title outside of the state. Mail forwarding won’t work, since DMV mail is returned to sender. How do I get my title?
