Working through a large project on the side at the moment under a bit of a time crunch. I've got a lot of plugins that really help but I'm noticing specifically i'm doing a lot of timeline management and keyframe management, simple things that could be done with a click of a button.
I know we get a lot of these threads but it would be good to share the ones that are helpful for the more mundane / repetitive tasks. What I'm lacking are tools that are helpful in moving or distributing keyframes around but there are so many plugins out there I'm not sure which to choose.
Some that I already use and love, nearly all free / NYOP:
EaseCopy < my fave!
Motion Tools Pro (so much in there)
Buttcapper
Randomizer
FX Console (obviously, it should be built into AE at this point)
Comp Setter
I could make use of DUIK a bit more.
Any tried-and-tested plugins you cannot work without? :)

Edit: I didn't see you said free. Not sure how much these ones cost... but they're free to ME because I bought them so long ago I don't remember the price. Does that count? CopyPasta to easily paste things from the clipboard into the comp. I often just screenshot a webpage, paste it in, and then color pick from it. Or grab some quick elements with transparency that I need or a reference or logo to animate on top of. Just having 1 button to press to paste something into AE helps so much. Squash and Stretch Pro has come to the rescue lately when I'm animating something that needs a tiny bit more life. The stock animations are almost always way too long and need adjustments but it saves like 30 mins of adjusting bezier curves.

alright so i have the flow file in my extensions folder but whenever i open After Effects 2020, it doesnt show up there at all. Someone told to remove it from extensions file and add it to my script file but the only script file i see is " EveScripts ", im new to AE so im setting up my plugins and flow ( the panel/graph thing ) and FX Console seem to not work for me, so someone if you could help me out !

i was just wondering, to anyone who has the flow extension (the chart thing) do you still have to also graph within the graph editor or just the flow chart? sorry if this doesn’t make sense. i was thinking of purchasing it.

One big difference is that Flow only ever lets you see and work with one curve at a time. You can specify an easing and apply it to a lot of keyframes, but the view is always only between two keyframes, going from 0 to 1. In the graph editor, you have a much bigger-picture view of your animation, especially as the value graph shows the actual values of the keyframes. This means you can see how each curve relates to the next one, both in timing and value. +1 to learning the graph editor first before buying third-party tools, but Flow does make it super easy and fast to work with once you understand what it's doing (and lets you save / share curves 😉)

No matter what, you should learn to use the graph editor in and out. I use the Motion 3 plugin to do some things quickly and set a quick curve, but almost always hAve to go in and tweak it to make it just what I want. AFAIK? Flow is more for sequencing layers not for the curves.

Start with keyframe assistant > ease in/ease out / easy ease, and then find some tutorials on working with the graph editor. Not only is is free, you will develop some truly unique easings for yourself and your clients

After manually easing for years and years, I caved today and shelled out the $35 for flow. No regrets.

Plugins are good for 80% of the key frames you'll make, but you really need to get comfortable in the graph editor to do more advanced stuff. EG blending between multiple key frames, showing momentum, without stopping the movement.

I re downloaded it and installed the plug in but it still isn’t showing up. Has anyone else ran into this issue? Any ideas on how to fix it? I’ve restarted both program and computer. Everything is up to date as well

I find it better to install it with the aescripts + aeplugins own manager app. It's a cleaner way to install things. You need the latest version of Flow to work in the latest AE and their app helps you get it installed right.
