I use WhatFontIs, WhatTheFont, FontSpring Matcherator and FontSquirrel's Matcherator and find that I get more generic looking serifs and sans serifs than actual matches. (I visit r/identifythisfont and see if I can find the fonts requested.) Most of the time I go to dafont or 1001fonts and do a visual search by theme. Answer from canis_artis on reddit.com

r/fonts on Reddit: Any font matching websites that still work?
September 2, 2024 -

I could be alone here but as someone who needs to identify fonts from jpegs my clients send in, I've used whatfontis and fontsquirrel etc for ages, but god in the last year I swear they've become unusable?

Is it just me? Is it just the enshittification of the internet? Does anyone have recommendations for sites that still work? At my wits end, jobs that used to take 1 hour to do now take up hours just trying to find the font. I wish i worked somewhere we could just say give us the fonts or we can't help but alas the place I work at has never heard of the word no
