If you apply for the Prime Visa credit card, you'll be given a $200 Amazon Gift Card but to get the Prime Visa you have to be subscribed to Amazon Prime. I don't have Amazon Prime but I'm thinking in subscribing so then I can apply for the Prime Visa credit card, receive the $200 welcome bonus and then cancel my Prime subscription. I know the Prime Visa will be downgraded to an Amazon Visa (this credit seems like a good one anyways) but I can't find what can or will happen to the $200 gift card.
Any advice or insight? Has anyone done this or know the consequences? If not then I suppose I'll just try and see what happens.

Fun fact, you can still get the $200 gift card and qualify for it if you’re part of an Amazon prime family membership and you’re not the primary beneficiary on it. I was on my moms Prime membership when I got the card offer

You can get a monthly subscription, get the card and get the bonus and then decide to not continue with the subscription. You'll keep the bonus. You'll lose some benefits on the card but that's pretty much it.
