AI notes generator
Yeah, I totally get that struggle. Some lecturers talk so fast that keeping up feels impossible. Recording the lecture helps, but going back through hours of audio is a pain. A good workaround is using VOMO AI to transcribe lectures in real-time and generate structured notes. It also summarizes key points, so there’s no need to sift through the full transcript. If anything is unclear, the AI can help answer questions based on the content. More on reddit.com
Best AI tools for note-taking and summarizing content for YouTube, PDFs, lectures etc.
Nice comprehensive list, I've been down this rabbit hole myself recently. One thing I'd add is that the real magic happens when you can integrate these tools into your actual workflow rather than just having them as standalone apps. For example, I've been using Braini AI for processing video content and it's been solid for technical stuff since it can handle complex topics without getting confused like some of the simpler summarizers do. The key thing I learned from testing all these tools is that context retention matters way more than just basic summarization. Tools like getrecall and NotebookLM are good at this but you really need to feed them quality input to get quality output. Also worth mentioning that if you're dealing with technical content or need to maintain context across multiple sessions, make sure whatever tool you pick can actually remember previous conversations and build on them. Most of the quick summarizers like Eightify are great for surface level stuff but they fall apart when you need deeper analysis or want to connect concepts across different sources. The other thing nobody talks about is how these tools handle different accents and audio quality, which can make or break the experience if you're processing podcasts or lecture recordings regularly. Currently I just use ChatGPT to make notes for me. I saw a friend using NotebookLM and tried that but it does not seem good, or maybe I'm just not using it correctly. What tools do you guys use / recommend? I am looking for something to condense large readings down but still contain the necessary information, vocab, etc. and also give me like review materials to supplement my understanding.

I have a few lecturers that talk very fast and as I'm a slow typer I don't manage to write everything on my laptop so I have a few blank spaces every so often. Is there such thing as ai software that helps fill in the blanks. Chat GPT is useless.

This might not want to be the answer you want to hear, but use ChatGPT-4 for this. If your professors upload the slides to an e-learning platform after class, you can save the PowerPoint files and upload them to ChatGPT-4. Then ask it to create notes based on the slides in whatever style or format you want. Copy/paste these into a Word file and you have your notes. Costs $20/mo but it's more than worth it to me. That $20 is saving me time having to slog through hours of content and make sub-optimal notes by hand that I won't even read after. It also means I can actively listen more in lectures since I don't have to be so focused on making detailed notes all the time. Works best if you actually attend class and read the slides yourself first though.
