A game appeared on my phone called "blocks". Fit tetris-like stuff into an 8x8 grid. Complete rows to make room for more stuff. Really helps me find my zen. Until out of the speaker comes a woman's voice "don't let your period stop you from your A-game." -- ads. I thought "I would be glad to pay three bucks to have no ads" but that doesn't seem to be an option.

I have nearly zero experience in games or buying apps. I hope somebody can tell me how to have this little game without ads because the ads are harshing my smooth. (and after sorting out this little game, I would like to get a step counter app that doesn't have ads also)

As stated in the title, I'm looking for a good Tetris/block puzzle game that doesn't contain any intrusive ads, or further level-unlocking in-app purchase, whether it's free to use or a paid app. It is mainly for my retiring parents who want to catch up with the digital entertainment, and yet annoyed nor frigthened of misclicking those full page ads that are mostly scam. A genuine recommendation would be much appreciated.

UPDATE ① : Thank you for everyone's reply. Me and my parents have tried everyone's recommendation and found that most of them are either variant of block puzzle or a total different arcade game. My parents said they prefer a no-brainer game, arcades like Sudoku is way too stressful to them. Installation from third party source or website other than Google Playstore is also a BIG NO-NO to them. (*inserts Harold's smile)

UPDATE ② : I found one. So far it matches all my requirements: No ads, offline and from Google Playstore. The only demerit is that there isn't any rewarding level achievement; It's more like an endless challenge.

UPDATE ③ : I have dropped it after a moment into it. Still looking for some recommendations.
