Support-heavy platforms (like Gorgias, Intercom) – strong on CRM/ticketing, but pricing tends to scale fast and sometimes the “chatbot” piece feels like an add-on rather than core. The tradeoff usually comes down to whether you want a chatbot that primarily deflects tickets or one that also helps drive conversions. Some newer AI-first platforms are leaning into that middle ground working natively with Shopify, handling order tracking, FAQs, and also nudging shoppers during checkout/product discovery. If affordability and extensibility are key, I’d suggest testing a couple with your store’s actual workflows, you’ll see pretty quickly which ones frustrate shoppers vs. actually resolve things.
