What credit card bonuses are the easiest to get?
A variety of cards with sign-up bonuses require minimal effort to qualify. On average, no-annual-fee cash back credit cards tend to offer the lowest spending requirement for a welcome bonus. Some require only $500 to $1,000 in spending to earn a decent bonus (typically a $200 value). There are a few credit card offers (mainly with no-annual-fee cash back cards as well) that temporarily increase your rewards rate or match the rewards you earn in a certain time frame, which easily fit within your regular spending. A few co-branded cards and other less traditional cards may provide bonuses upon a

When will the bonus rewards show up in my account?

Your welcome bonus rewards typically post to your account after the close of the billing cycle where you met the minimum spending. If you meet your spending requirement on the 5th day of the month and your statement closes on the 25th day of the month, you most likely won't receive your rewards until after the 25th.

Do credit cards basically give you free money as long as you replace the amount of money you spent by a certain time? (If not, please explain as simply as possible)
Do credit cards basically give you free money as long as you replace the amount of money you spent by a certain time? This is a different way to word it, but yes, this is correct. Also, do you get your paycheck deposited to a debit card or a credit card? You get your paycheck deposited to a bank account. If the bank account is the one to which your debit card is connected, then you spend your paycheck via your debit card. If you use a credit card, you transfer funds to pay off the credit card. There are several different ways to handle this transfer. Also also, is the act of signing up for a credit card free? I have never heard of paying to sign up for a credit card. There are credit cards with annual fees, but you do not need to pay to actually apply. Also also also, what happens if you've never had credit? How do they determine your eligibility? They determine your eligibility by pulling a report from the credit bureaus. There are 3 main ones: Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. If you have never had a credit card, auto loan, mortgage, postpaid cell phone contract, or any other kind of credit, they probably have no data on you. This means that a credit card issuer will probably not give you a regular credit card. One option to get a credit card with no credit history, and probably the best option in most cases, is to get a secured credit card. Basically, you put down a security deposit, and the credit card issuer gives you a credit card with a spending limit up to the amount of that security deposit. The intent is that you treat the credit card as a standard credit card. You use the card, and make the payments. You do not use your security deposit. That is there as an "insurance" for the credit card issuer, in order to reduce their liability to zero. Generally, after some time of good performance, the issuer will switch your card to a regular card and refund your security deposit. More on reddit.com

Hey. I need a credit card, that allows you instant access to it, like a virtual card. I’d like to be able to use it instantly, I have to pay $100 more, to get my security license
Most major banks support “instant use” upon approval through a digital wallet. The key part of your question is “which you can get” about which you have provided no information so no one can suggest anything specific to you. More on reddit.com

October 19, 2025 -

I'm done with the churning game, it was fun and I liked chasing rewards. But, I think I grew past that now and I think its worth the simplicity of a few cards and I don't have to stress about chasing rewards etc anymore. In the long run, the peace of mind from simplicity beats any extra rewards. I'm getting good at using the right card at the right place. Once in 4 years, I might still apply for Chase Sapphire, and downgrade it. Me and spouse are on different cycles ;)

Here is my list, I'm open to new cards or replacing with higher value if there are suggestions.

  • Citi Double Cash: This is my catch-all. 2% on everything

  • Chase Freedom: Rental insurance (I don't care that much about revolving/rotating)

  • Altitute Go: DineIn, Restaurants, 3% upto $2k/quarter. This used to be better.

  • Citi Custom Cash: My default for Grocery, 5% upto %500 monthly.

  • Cap one venture: Free Intl transaction, Virtual credit cards.

If I were to do this again, I would probably get rid of venture one, double cash and chase freedom and just get Fidelity (but lose out on virtual cards). I just happen to have these already. I'd end up with just:

  • Altitute Go: DineIn, Restaurants, 4% upto $2k/quarter. This used to be better.

  • Citi Custom Cash: My default for Grocery, 5% upto %500 monthly.

  • Fidelity: 2% catch all, rental and free Int'l transactions.

March 1, 2020 - The point is you're not spending that money on the thing, you could probably go withdraw the money right back from the card and not have actually spent anything, with the brief use of $5 you can have a card you can use for any number of free trials from anywhere.

When you get a paycheck deposited, it is deposited to a bank account. You can think of your bank account as one of your homes that money has. The debit card is a vehicle that your money uses to leave its home (expenses). So when money is deposited, it is directly to your bank account and your debit card is how you can spend that money. Applying for a credit card is free, but each credit card varies as some have annual fees and others are free (no annual fee, or AF). For example, if you were to apply for the Apple card, there would be no annual fee associated with opening the account, therefore being a free account. However, if you were to open an American Express Gold Card, there would be a $250 AF. Since you are new to finances, I would recommend applying for the discover it card (student if you're a student, otherwise a secured card). And you're probably gonna ask, "What is a secured card?" A secured card is a credit card that you put a deposit down. This doesn't apply to all credit card, only to secured cards. When you use your credit card RESPONSIBLY (had to emphasize it), you may get your deposit refunded on the 8th statement (with Discover). And this segways to your 3rd question. When it comes to not having credit, you usually have a few choices: you can apply for a student credit card (if you're a student) or a secured credit card. Some banks will approve you for cards based on your relationship with them. For example, suppose you have a relationship with Wells Fargo (ew), and they see regular direct deposits from your employer. They may approve you for one of their cards (emphasis on may since they are a conservative lender) since they see that you have money coming in every x weeks. If they do approve you, they will give you a low limit since you don't have credit. If you do not have a relationship with the bank, they most likely will deny you. As time goes on (with an open credit card account), your credit will start to take shape and at the 6 month mark, you will finally have a FICO score. This should not be confused with a VantageScore, which you will see on CreditKarma. Lenders base their lending decision on FICO. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM CREDIT ONE BANK. DO NOT APPLY FOR ANY OF THEIR CARDS. THEY NICKEL AND DIME YOU WITH TONS OF FEES. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT OPEN A CREDIT ONE CREDIT CARD!!! OPEN EITHER A DISCOVER CARD OR A CAPITAL ONE CARD AND LET THEM AGE!!!! The best way to go about building credit would be having your first few accounts have no AF. Why? Since the accounts cost nothing to you, you can keep them open for a very long time. As for rewards, when you treat your credit card as a debit card; only spending money that you have and can afford, you can accumulate rewards. Rewards being either cashback or points (points is for traveling). In order to do this, only spend what you have (yes I needed to re-emphasize that) and NEVER PAY INTEREST (DO NOT CARRY A BALANCE MONTH-TO-MONTH; PAY YOUR BALANCE IN FULL AT BEFORE THE END OF THE BILLING CYCLE!!!) Also, DO NOT WITHDRAW MONEY FROM AN ATM WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD. YOU WILL BE CHARGED A FEE AND ACCRUE INTEREST IMMEDIATELY. THE REWARDS AREN'T WORTH IT IF YOU PAY INTEREST. Since I wrote this at 3:22AM PST, I do encourage others to please add on, or correct anything I have said to help OP :).
