EverythinfWX from the play store. It's coded by a former NWS employee and has the simple meat and potatoes weather. Lots of folks use RadarOmega for radar stuff and it looks really good. Ibe used RadarScope for several years and is a pretty good radar app. Hth. More on reddit.com

Is there a good free radar app

I totally get not wanting to spend the money but the gap in quality between the best free radar app and the most popular paid apps is huge. Even just the $10 one time buy without the subscription is 100% worth it. That said, I’ve heard good things about both MyRadar and Windy. Never actually used windy though. Just what I’ve heard. If it's mobile, no idea, PC is supercell wx (you do have to install it off of github) and quad weather (you need to sign up with an account but it's 100% free) as my preferred apps depending on what I need. Quad weather has 3d visualization but is slower and has less customization than supercell wx

I'm looking for a good, reliable weather app that goes a little more into detail than the basic info (like where's the rain), maybe throw in some velocities on the map too. I've heard RadarScope was good but I don't want to pay $100 for a weather app. Any help is appreciated.

Windy was, but they really messed up a new version of the app a couple weeks ago. Hopefully they'll fix it but the website is still good.

For velocity and storm detail, RadarScope with the $9.99 annual Pro Tier 1 subscription is what I use. Split screen view with reflectivity on one and velocity on the other makes it very easy to identify storms and rotation. However using velocity means learning how to interpret radar using a single radar site. Most radar apps combine multiple radars into one virtual global image, but that is also why they are imprecise blobs. Once you take the time to learn what’s going on with raw data, you’ll love RadarScope.

Weatherwise.app is decent and also has a website. WX is another good choice.
