So for a secind time, this meter popped up in my cart and I thought What the hey I'll add a couple more eligible items and get them later today, then after I check out and everything, all of my "eligible items" are suddenly set to be delivered for the next day or the day after. Has anyone else has this happen to them? I just don't understand why they make a big deal about promising same-day delivery then it's not same-day after check out.
has anyone else seen this happen? I've been using Amazon prime for years and I've always had to hit the $25 minimum for the free same day delivery until this morning when I went to buy something (shipped and sold by Amazon) that was showing eligible for free same day shipping WITH the $25 minimum (otherwise it'd be free one day shipping) but then on checkout page surprisingly there was one time slot for the same day shipping that was FREE despite not hitting the $25 minimum and all the other same day delivery time slots were the $2.99 upcharge

I reluctantly renewed my Prime membership yesterday because I primarily use them for groceries and quick pet items. This morning I went to check out a grocery order and there were no delivery times at all for today. Found out now (after they'd previously already increased the max amount you must order for your 'free delivery,' then cleverly lessened the max number of items you can order at one time, all even with a Prime membership,) you need to buy an additional grocery membership for $99 a year on TOP of your prime membership.
But their services have gotten increasingly and consistently worse over time, and they want you to pay MORE for it? smh
After a year's worth of Amazon shipping delays, wrong orders, used items sent when new were ordered, unavailable items, and especially for trying to require additional subscriptions or 'upgrades' on things that were originally included with Prime, but were modified so that you didn't want to even use the benefits after these 'upgrades' (ex., Prime music: requiring additional $ for suddenly 'upgraded' songs you'd previously placed in your playlist under your membership; asking for more $ to not have commercials in videos in prime video; and now same day grocery deliveries available only with additional $, etc,) that Amazon feels their increasingly bad services deserve more money on top of the $139 membership is absurd.
After having Prime since it was first offered years ago, Amazon has finally just pushed too far with the bait and switch greed tactics. How many yachts does Bezos need? I'm out. All my various business goes local, as it always should have. A lesson unfortunately too long in the learning.
I am running low on coffee. It’s eligible for free same day delivery r with $25 purchase. I put in another eligible item. I double check the order and place it. Then after I order it says next day for delivery. Just WTF. How dishonest.
I've noticed next day availability until I put more than 1 in my cart then it changes to 2 day delivery.
Other times I see next day and then when I get to the checkout next day is only available for an extra $2.99.
Cancel the order and try to place them separately. They may be bundling from 2 different shipping sites.
Do they have mini warehouses stocked with select items strategically located that on-call or ‘independent contractors’ deploy from? Is someone picking this up on demand? That’s a really quick response time
Everyday, I see someone on here saying prime is a scam now but I’ve never had an issue with a late delivery. I order, usually a few times a month, but I’ve never had one issue with delivery, that I can recall. My guess is people are more likely to complain about not getting a delivery on time, rather than post about a good experience.
I just moved to the neighborhood so it’s not a huge deal long term but as I realize i’ve forgotten some stuff in the move, everything has said one day delivery so far.
This has happened to me a few times and it’s super irritating. I’m trying to purchase two items that say they are eligible for same day shipping when spending over $35 on eligible items. Together they come to about $40. However, when I go to checkout it says the soonest they can be delivered is two days from now. I live in a large city and the weather is good so I can’t imagine it’s necessarily a delivery issue. Anyone know why this happens?
I am 0 for 20 on getting anything even close to the window they quote when its next day delivery this month. This is just a scam I’m guessing. Something in the shipping bylaws allows for them to knowingly lie about arrival time I am guessing. I am also sure this is location based. Colorado Springs is my location. I order too much amazon products for sure, not even hating on them. But trusting the delivery window is foolish. It says that because youll buy it thinking that truth is 18-48 hours probably and sometimes not at all. Thats still pretty darn fast. Just not fast enough for my coffee beans this morning 😂
Ordered a few things with Amazon Prime same-day delivery earlier today. I explicitly remember choosing the 4-8 PM delivery window for today.
Fast forward, no sign of the order, so I check the site again, and now it just casually says “arriving tomorrow”, with zero mention of any delay or change. Just straight-up rewritten history like it was always tomorrow.
Either Amazon has a sneaky bug… or they’ve figured out how to alter memories. Anyone had the same issue before?
lol what's the point of downvoting this post?
I’ve never had a same-day shipping item arrive on time, it’s usually severely late like 2 days. I add extra crap to my cart to get the same-day shipping so I have a book to read before work and then it gets here days later.
How do they get away with this when it’s clearly false advertising and it happens constantly?
I have tracked the last 10 "same day" deliveries I've made through Amazon. In every case, I have had to buy more qualifying items to get the actual item I want on a "same day" delivery. Often I didn't really want to buy anything more, and often I've just bought something like 10 tubes of chapstick to meet the minimum because I really wanted another item ASAP.
In four of ten of these orders did the items actually arrive in the stated same day window. In other words, 60% of the time I was required to buy things in order to get a delivery promise that was unfulfilled. In the past when I've sought recourse with Amazon it was something like "don't worry, if it doesn't come within 2 weeks you MAY be entitled to a full refund!"
Perhaps my experience is unusual and I just keep ordering things when the delivery vans break down, but man this feels shoddy.
I just spent two hours on the phone with customer service trying to figure out why all Prime orders since mid-October are suddenly taking 5-16 days when they used to be delivered on the 3rd business day. Turns out Amazon has changed their definitions to cover what they’re doing.
Two Day Shipping now means the item will arrive two days after it leaves the warehouse. This does not include the time between when the order is placed and when it makes it out the door.
FREE Prime Shipping equals Standard Shipping without a $25 order minimum. Two Day Shipping is not/no longer available to your area.
Standard Shipping is free with a $25 minimum order and takes 5-21 days.
If you are like me and have noticed a sudden, drastic increase in shipping time, it’s likely you’re not in a Two Day Shipping-eligible area anymore. Amazon seems to be struggling and is shrinking its Two Day coverage areas and changing the definitions of its offered services to hide it. If your shipping options are FREE Prime Delivery or FREE Amazon Day Delivery, you’re now paying $140/yr for the exact same shipping anyone can get for free with a $25 order.
