Pluto TV has over a hundred free channels and tons of on demand content. Roku Channel has a ton of on demand content but I don’t think it has as many free channels. Plex has a lot of free channels and on demand content plus it allows you to stream your content from your computer. Tubi TV has a ton of on demand content but I haven’t checked out the live TV channels. They did just have the Super Bowl air live as they are owned by CBS or FOX. Hello everyone, After several months, I've finally finished my own little streaming app. Its like netflix and all the other streaming platform in one place.

I'm an old-school Stremio user, but I thought I'd like to create something similar in my free time. My goal wasn't to replace Stremio, but simply to offer an alternative. I want to add as many simple, on-demand customization options to the app as possible. One such feature right now is the category editor, but many other things are also planned.

The app is completely free, with no ads or paywalls. I also managed to get it on the Play Store, so it's available on phones, tablets, and TVs.

Here are a few features the app already has:

Built-in Real-Debrid

Subtitle addon

Trakt support

Category editor

Synchronization of favorites and watched movies/series with a Google login

Separate mobile and TV versions

Community addons (stremio addons is supported-ish)

It's also compatible with most Stremio addons, like scrapers and catalog addons. By the way, because of the built-in Real-Debrid, you don't have to enter your details separately in the addons, even if it's a Stremio addon.

This might not be the best, most detailed app description, but I'm very excited to see how you'll receive it and what your experiences will be with my app.

I hope you'll like it and it will handle well if some of you start using it. :D I'm open for feedbacks! There is still bugs in the app,, but I'm working on it.

I have Sling but I really do not watch it that much and am considering cancelling. The other day I was helping my parents get their new TV set up and went on the Roku App and they had a lot more stuff on it than the last time I opened it.

Out of Roku, Samsung TV, Pluto, Tubi etc. which one would you say is the best? I noticed a lot have overlap on channels but did not delve too far into their on demand movies and stuff like that.

Any suggestions?

June 17, 2025 -

I've started using an Android TV device and I'm looking for a stable and easy-to-use streaming app that offers a variety of content: movies, series, sports, and maybe even some cartoons or documentaries. I've heard about Onstream, TiviMate, and Flixify, but I'm not sure which ones are really worth it.

Recommendations for good streaming apps for Android? While others will surely chime in with their recommendations, mine will appear a bit jaded being I am a Mod in r/TiviMate 😏. Nonetheless, I was a user first (almost 5 years now), and have been Modding for just over a year. Don't let my position augment the fact that I chose it for it's ease of use and layout style, which pretty much aligns with most cable, DSL or Satellite boxes. It's excellent for Live TV, while some day that other apps (Stremio, etc) provide better VOD / Series TV. This site will tell you what features get enabled if you choose to register (pay) for a lifetime sub. Google Play Store still offers an annual sub, but at roughly ⅓ the cost of lifetime, it's almost a no-brainer... Official Tivimate website... tivimate.com Just scroll across and down to find details of its features, and options for downloading it to try for 7 days before deciding to pay (or not). Unlimited playlists and Multiscreen are able to be used when registered, as well as colour settings and EPG support. Here is a link to a User Guide... Tivimate User Guide (v5.1.6) by u/MikeG484 : https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/cbo7n89430utio1x41lfm/TiViMate-Users-Guide-5.1.6.pdf?rlkey=4nxc1h29ig1tvonbcqzospflw&e=1&st=ri3s9r60&dl=0 The only thing you need is an Internet Protocol TV Service Provider (IPSP), not to be confused with your Internet Service Provider (ISP), to obtain an M3U playlist or credentials in Xtream Codes format (easiest to input), or Stalker Portal (may require additional authentication, which depends upon IPSP). We don't discuss these in r/TiviMate , as it's something that Reddit has been chasing down, especially in subs not intended for such discussion. Hope this all helps you in some way 🙏

Cable TV is so expensive these days. Have FIOS and paying an arm and leg for 75% channels that I don't watch.

Looking to start free trials to see what is best. Started the free trial the other day with HuluTv. The app On my Xbox Series X it is fast but on my Google tv(Sony) it is slow as heck to browse.

Is the rule of thumb getting any live TV streaming App on an Apple tv/Roku/AmazonFirestick device? Because the TV Google OS maybe can't handle it.

It's literally the most underrated app.

I recently discovered Tv Bro, and honestly, it's a game changer for Google TV users. It's a browser optimized for TV with remote-friendly navigation, and it comes with a built-in adblocker. No more annoying pop-ups or banner ads while browsing or streaming.

You can use it for basically anything you'd do on your PC, streaming (any streaming website works fine). The interface is super smooth and works perfectly with the TV remote (no need for a mouse or keyboard).

It’s totally free and open-source too. If you're someone who sideloads or likes streaming from different platforms, this is the one app you need.

You can find it on play store for Google Tv or you can download the apk version through the downloader.

September 21, 2025 - https://rentry.org/debridservices for free, still use stremio but use the add-ons nuviostreams and webstreamr ... I’d second onstream. It’s got a great, easy to navigate UI with ‘click and play’ appeal, non of this nonsense of spending more time cycling through streams for a working/decent link. Hdo box is virtually the same - although the latest version on firestick seems a bit buggy. ... Sorry for iOS iPadOS tvOS only but there are apps for android like stremio and others that use the same addons 🤗 More replies More replies

r/cordcutters on Reddit: best and worst free streaming TV providers

I just started watching "The Ref" on Freebie TV which I am unfamiliar with.

The first several minutes of the movie included a small picture-in-picture in the top left corner. I think it was advertising but I ignored it so who know.

At the four minute mark, the streaming froze.

Anyone more knowledgable about the p-i-p content? Is it advertising?

And of course, last time I watched movie on Pluto (or was it Tubi?) it included intrusive commercial breaks every 10 minutes, often in the middle of a scene.

Which free streaming providers do a better job?

ETA: From the responses, it seems that Pluto was the channel I watched. And people feel that Tubi is a less intrusive, more enjoyable provider. Thanks for the info, everyone!
