Your local library probably has free passes for state parks, museums, and other trips. Part of the Discover & Go program. I was able to get two free tickets to Alcatraz a few months ago. Answer from Darmok47 on reddit.com

r/bayarea on Reddit: Recommendations on what to do today?

Hey all,
Single guy here, no family around, just sitting at home bored. I’ve got a car and can drive anywhere reasonable in the Bay Area, but I have no idea what to do today. I’m open to: • Casual hangs where it’s not weird to show up solo • Bars or lounges with good drinks and snacks • Daytime stuff like walks, views, coffee shops, bookstores, or low-key events • Anything that’s good for meeting new people or at least being around people What would you do if you were a single dude with a free day and a car in the Bay? Any specific spots, events, or neighborhoods I should check out today?

PS: I live in Cupertino if that matters

r/bayarea on Reddit: Huge list of things to do in the Bay Area
July 15, 2023 -

If you are looking for something to do this weekend, I got you.

Here's the link for my list of things to do in (and around) the Bay Area.

Edit: If you are on mobile, you have to click the link to get to the list. Otherwise you just see a blurry preview pic.

Notes:

- Please add additional recs in the comments! I'll add as many as I can to the sheet.

- This list is made up of friends/family/coworker recommendations, my personal favorites, and me stalking Bay Area subreddits for the last decade.

- To sort entries, make a copy (File --> Make a copy), then highlight a column, then Data --> Sort sheet.

- The only food places and stores on the list are ones I consider a destination in their own right. Otherwise there's just too much. If there are other lists of food recs by location, I'll add links like I did with The Cookie List.

- I don't have any events on here. That could be a separate doc someday.

- I included some non Bay Area places that are a drivable distance away. I'd love to add more!

- Accessibility is based on my own experience and mentions the lowest level of mobility required. "Wheelchair" means manual chair with helpers pushing and ability to get over small barriers. I didn't add info for places I haven't been or places I wasn't sure about.

- I get confused about what is East/North/South Bay. If anyone wants to add that info, PM me and I'll give you permission to edit the sheet.

- If the typos and mistakes make your eyes bleed, PM me and I'll give you permission to edit.

- This is an evolving document. I'm still adding things, editing keywords, adding links, etc. If anyone wants to help, PM me and I'll give you permission to edit.

- Feel free to cross post to relevant subs.
