Creating own ISRC codes
It's been a while since I did this but I believe I found the relevant agency to my area and applied through here: https://isrc.ifpi.org/en/ They gave me a unique prefix to use for my recordings for free and also asked me to adhere their guidelines: https://www.ifpi.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/ISRC_Handbook.pdf Essentially you use your unique prefix + year of release + designation code (which is just a sequential numbering system) and most importantly never use the same code twice if the original recording has been modified even in the slightest way. Hello everyone,
Can anyone explain how to create or embed ISRC codes for own songs before registering them with a music distributor? It seems like this would be a safer approach, given the many reports of scams involving DSPs.

I have an PPL UK account, they give you the template for ISRC and you fill out the rest as they instruct.
