Hi r/selfhosted , After 9 years of running my own OpenStreetMap tile server infra for MapHub , I've open-sourced it and launched OpenFreeMap. OpenFreeMap lets you display custom maps on your website and apps for free. You can either self-host or use our public instance. Everything is open-source, including the full production setup — there’s no 'open-core' model here. Check out our GitHub . The map data comes from OpenStreetMap. September 20, 2024Recommendations for sites with TRULY free hi-res graphics and images?
For free, high-res stock photos, pexels.com and unsplash.com are my go-tos. Pixabay.com also has some decent stock photos and vector graphics. I occasionally look around wikimedia commons for reference material, but it's not great for stock imagery. Open peeps is a wonderful resource for illustrations of people, as are pimpmydrawing.com and undraw.co . If you need one, you can find a lot of free maps on digital-vector-maps.com . You can also get some pretty good free resources from unblast.com . Edit: FYI, I'm a professional graphic designer and I support paying for resources, but sometimes there are good reasons for needing free stuff, and these sites are from other professionals who are specifically offering their work for free. Hi redditors!
I want to introduce a project that I've been working on for the last 6 months - Vemaps.com. It has 1030 vector maps already. Since this project is mostly made for designers, it would be great to hear your thoughts on what type of maps would be great to add?
Currently, there're 6 types of maps for most countries. Example:
Over the next two months, I'm going to add another 700 maps.
