Hi, I think you can use Matlab or free option and used in the comunity Ipython. If you are already familiar with matlab will not be so different and works on Windows as well

If you don't have easy access to commercial software such as matlab, I strongly recommend R (http://www.r-project.org/) which is open source/free. R is relatively easy to learn and packages for almost all popular data analysis methods are available.

Leanard - a tricky question to answer really. The 'choice', even just online, is overwhelming - and it depends on what aspects of qualitative data analysis you are looking for i.e thematic, content etc - and other related issues such as techniques i.e. manula, software management etc. It also depends at what 'level' you migth be seeking. For instance, if a student, at Honours, Masters, PhD level. There are what many would refer to as 'generic' texts/sources - but they don't always serve specific and individual needs.
