Hey guys today i wanted to play a modpack with friends but the launcher is not working. It always shows up something like : “There was an issue” . Since it happened to all of us it might have happened to others. Any fixes / advice?

Have a look at the FTB discord and check the pinned comment in #help-and-support for info.

In summary - Overwolf is currently down but downloading and using the standalone version of the FTB app works.

All of your instances will show up like normal, no need to transfer them or anything.

November 12, 2015 - The download tab pops up at the bottom (I use Chrome) and then it just sits there saying “Starting…” for a while before saying “Failed - Network error.” · So there’s obviously something going very wrong between my computer and the FTB host. when i try to login to minecraft with the "old" FTB Launcher it says "Minecraft authentication servers might be down. Check @ help.mojang.com" even tho i certainly have internet and the normal Minecraft launcher works no problem, im at a loss of what else to try, i reinstalled, tried running as admin or turning off my firewall nothing seems to work.

Did you migrate your Mojang account to a Microsoft account?

If so, you can't use the Classic launcher. You have to use the new one.

Internet connection is good. Tried both Ethernet and Wi-Fi, and the ads are loading fine on the app. Only other thing I can think of is I need to update Java but when I try to do that there’s a server error (haven’t figured out how to fix this yet).

Uninstall FTB and delete the actual folder it uses. Redownload it, don't use the same download you currently have, and reinstall it fresh. See if that works as a first step.

Yo wtf is this overwolf? I don't want overwolf... I think i downloaded this nonsense years ago and I don't want it. I just want the normal launcher. I don't want any of this extra adware.

The linux version doesn't use overwolf , but it's a bit of a hassle to download if you use windows because you'll either need a virtual machine running linux or WSL2 . You can migrate the downloaded modpacks to another launcher, like Prism , after. Unfortunately, FTB slowly shut down every other previous distribution method for their packs after their move to overwolf over the last few years so windows users are stuck using it.

Stay away from anything that uses Overwolf , Overwolf is literally an Israeli data collection platform aka spyware , idk why people still use it willingly.
