So I currently moved into a property where I only have one room. I have my child staying over 3 times a week and rather than sharing the bed I need a better setup as its not ideal. They are young enough but until I find better accomodation I need to find a solution.
I have a double Malm bed. Other than a blow up bed.... are there any other better solutions for my problem? Are there any more ikea beds that allow a second pull out bed underneath?

The UTÅKER bed stacks and unstacks easily. You can have it as a twin or connect them together for a king. I have one for my kid and I really like it. I like that it can be split into two separate beds if you have people who don’t want to share a bed. There are several trundle daybeds at IKEA. Hemnes, brimnes, flekke all have a trundle option. Have you considered a trifold matress? (I don’t think ikea has them) they’re foam mattresses that fold and can be stored in a closet. Usually only about $100 each. They’re far more comfortable than an inflatable bed and don’t take up much more space.

We had one of those ikea slide out beds and let me tell you it doesn’t really slide on thick carpet. And so huge and heavy it’s an ordeal to move it. Plus I think the drawers just made the dust mite thing worse. Would not recommend.

We're planning to use it mainly as a sofa in the living room. I have read more negative reviews when it is used a queen/king size bed. I want to hear some positive reviews too! Well, negative reviews are still welcome before we spend our money with this furniture.

Had one for 2 years now. No issues at all, quite comfortable but make sure to invest in mattresses. Building for me was physically a little hard but not complicated. I have moved with it as well and didn't have issues disassembling and reassembling it.

If you have the right mattress(es), it’s perfectly comfortable as a full bed! I’ve slept on it for at most one week in a row. Would not use it every night probably

Hi! The bed frame I have is the white HEMNES daybed with 3 drawers, TWIN . Here is the link:

For anyone that stumbles across this post - I have a full size mattress on top of this Hemnes daybed frame and it works perfectly! Have been using this for at least 4 years daily. Don’t be afraid to try it! There are no weird spaces , as the bed frame can roll out, so you can make it custom to fit exactly the width of the full size mattress!

Perfectly ok to do as long as you're fine with not being able to use the daybed function to the fullest extent. You'd be surprised with how many people do this instead of stacking the twins.
