This will be a daily use couch (for me) and a 1-2 night a week sleeper for my mother. Love seat size or a little bigger would be ok. Ideally with an actual 'couch' style... padded arms rather than wooden or something.
My parents once had a horribly firm Ikea love seat that converted into an equally firm sleeper... it was almost comical. So I'm weary of ikea, but I'm in a small condo with a tight staircase so I think Ikea might be my only solution.
Does anyone have a couch/sleeper they like and can attest it's comfort? Even if "bed mode" needs a topper, I'd be ok with that.

I'm working on making a 'bonus' room more utilized in our house. We've used it as a guest bedroom with a simple frame, but want to reclaim some living space. We're at a season of life where between kids and snoring, I use the bed 70% of the time, so I want a convertible bed that can be quickly made and comfortable enough for myself and older guests as well.
My mind immediately went to a murphy bed because you can keep the full height mattress and don't need to set up linens every night. My wife rightfully notes that a pullout couch bed will take up significantly less space. I've never used what I would call a 'good' pull out bed, but maybe technology has improved in the past decade or two. Does anyone have any pull-out bed recommendations that would rival a real mattress, or am I on the right track with the murphy set up?
