Coursera IBM Full-Stack Developer - will the information be sufficient for me to build my own web-applications?
I personally did the Odin project and would recommend it. The only thing is you have to be okay with reading tutorials vs watching videos More on reddit.com

Would you recommend it for full stack development as a absolute beginner
I won't. Follow something like Full Stack Open or the Odin Project. Coursera courses are very surface-level in my experience. More on reddit.com

Coursera: IBM Full stack software developer course
It's a good and beginner friendly course. Just apply for financial aid for every module and wait a few days. You can add it to your resume too imo but keep learning and doing more advanced courses. Good luck! More on reddit.com

r/DevelEire on Reddit: Thoughts on Coursera - IBM Full Stack Software Developer Course?
February 13, 2024 -

Hey! I’m from the North and looking to re-enter the workforce after a long period of illness. I’ve developed an interest in coding as of late and hoping to get into software development role, as I need something I can do remotely (illness).

I’ve been researching courses and accreditations for what seems like forever and always run into issues either with my location (courses not provided) or funding (compromises my incapacity income).

I’ve realised I’m liable to have to pay for my own course. Unfortunately, thousands of pounds is not something I can afford. This Coursera course on full stack software development seems to be something I could afford.

Is it worth paying for the Coursera membership? Alternatively, if anyone knows of any other options for me, I’d be grateful for suggestions. Thanks!

r/learnprogramming on Reddit: Coursera IBM Full-Stack Developer - will the information be sufficient for me to build my own web-applications?
December 28, 2024 -

I have had an idea for years, and I want to finally put it together (a website with profiles (members) / forum / payment systems / etc)

This may be a silly question but if I complete the program called "IBM Full Stack Software Developer" ... would I be able to build a (buggy) version of my idea? I am so stuck on whether to go with IBM or with TheOdinProject .

I am a complete novice and was going to go to college for a web-development program - however, I have decided to go with either Coursera or TheOdinProject
