Stanley Marketplace, Celestial Seasonings Factory tour (Boulder) or Hammond's Candy factory tour. I love to take friends to Wash Park and rent a surry bike together or do the swan boats (especially in the evening as the swan boats get lit up). Olde Town Arvada or downtown Morrison for lunch. Or downtown Littleton is cute and nearby, Chez Lizeth is an amazing creperie with a darling vibe (get an affogoto, they're amazing). El Taco de Mexico in the arts district on Santa Fe looks like and feels like a hole-in-the-wall, but it's authentic Mexican that has earned it a James Beard award and write ups in travel magazines such as Sunset. An easy Incline hike can be found near Denver at Mother Cabrini Shrine & Grotto. At the top, you can see most of Denver. Down to the southwest is Roxborough State Park with some beautiful rock formations and the Chatfield Botanic Gardens location. For the most amazing night time view of Denver, and some really excellent food, I recommend El Five in the Highlands. Do a candle making class at Rosy Rings, its so fun to sip wine and sample scents. Lastly, the History Colorado Museum is hugely underrated, and they have a fun 90s exhibit right now. Answer from Eisenheimmer on reddit.com

35 Unique things to do in Denver Colorado from a Local
February 11, 2025 - Red Rocks is on most people’s Things to Do in Denver lists – however, they tell you to go see a concert at this stunning venue. That’s great – but I also suggest seeing Red Rocks in a unique way by doing morning yoga! Yoga on the Rocks is held on Saturdays in the summer months. It’s a popular activity for locals, so make sure you get your tickets and go early.

can you give me some suggestions of fun things to do for cheap that don’t involve alcohol?

$20 bucks a month gets you the alamo drafthouse pass. Can see a movie every day between the three locations in town.

What do do in Denver?
To your point, likely more concerts and theater on the weekends, but that there’s still plenty of both available. https://www.westword.com/denver/EventSearch?eventSection=2202977&feature=Concert&narrowByDate=2023-07-24-to-2023-07-26&sortType=date&v=g I tried to filter by date for you but you can always do it manually on the site. Westworld is just a good local resource. Outside of events on that page, there’s always the classics. Plenty of hikes within a short drive of downtown. More on reddit.com

Unique/obscure activities
We’ve got the highest number of escape rooms per capita in the country (give or take). There are a ton of very cool ones, but Rabbit Hole Recreation Services is like, top tier in terms of the build out and props. Itchy-O is like the experience band in Denver. I’ve personally never been but I have a lot of friends that have been to their shows multiple times and rave about it. Camp Christmas is awesome. Don’t know when you’re looking to get these tickets for, but i know they’re open into the new year. Spectra Immersive Art Gallery always has a cool show going on. Their tickets will be on the cheaper side. Lumonics Light and Sound Art Gallery is also very cool and they often do light art classes, which could be cool. Generally smaller, immersive theater companies doing cool stuff in the area at any given time are Control Group Productions, Phantom Circus, and Audacious Theatre. The Catamounts in Boulder also does neat events, some are more or less theater-y vs immersive. DCPA is the big theater complex that’s very well-known, but it does usually have an immersive show going, although Theater of the Mind closes on Dec 18th. Also, there’s a company that does pub crawl ghost tours called Nightly Spirits. You drink at around 4 different bars and the costumed guide tells you ghost stories/history at each spot while you do. May 13, 2025 -

I have a friend visiting who I have taken to many of the Denver hotspots over the last 11 years. I am looking for a special experience that might cost a little extra but is totally worth it. For example, they love brewery/distillery tours but I know some places have special experiences (like New Belgium's production tours). Are there any other restaurants, breweries, Denver hotspots, etc that might have a special experience you would suggest? Thank you for all your suggestions!

Nocturn is always a great time! Art deco styled jazz bar. Strongly encouraged dress code so you can make a nice night of it. Great food, awesome staff! The Yacht Club was just rated one of the best bars in the country. Get the caviar hotdog. Not exactly ‘lesser known’ but it’s a fun time!
