Furmark is fine it just tends to be more intense than your average gaming session. I like that so personally I use furmark for all of my benchmarking. The only thing you need to be careful with is the cpu burner utility. Use it to test your cooling but don't leave it running for super long periods of time. More on reddit.com

During a 30 min stress today on my pc for stability since I updated my bios today, my brother walked into my room and said Furmark is bad for my gpu? How true is that really?
So basically, I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to my pc, and for the past month I kept checking it by doing like a 15 min full pc stress test after checking it.
Now, nothing overheated. My cpu was fine, my gpu was like 60 degrees boards, around 80 hotspot and around 76-78 memory. I have an Asus tuf RX7800XT OC so Ikd if these ar good temps or nah.
During a 30 min stress today on my pc for stability since I updated my bios today, my brother walked into my room and said Furmark is bad for my gpu? How true is that really? Is it really that abd for it compared to other stress tests?
How likely is it that these tests will affect my gpu going on from now?

Furmark is fine it just tends to be more intense than your average gaming session. I like that so personally I use furmark for all of my benchmarking. Unless you overclock it or raise the power limit or anything there is literally nothing you could do to harm your components. They would just throttle down if they get too hot. Running furmark is absolutely safe.

I'm selling my STRIX Vega 64 and the person I'm selling it to asked if I could run a FurMark test and send him the results. I've never run it before and I just want to know what I'm doing, how to do it, should I turn the AA on and at what option etc.
I'm running a 1920x1080 monitor. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Personally I would avoid running furmark. Heard horror stories about it burning cards out in the past. Especially not on a vega 64 (hot card) and the strix variant has it's own thermal issues so if you have not fixed the thermal pads on the vrm definitely dont run furmark. There are plenty of other much safer benchmarks to test hardware stability. See 3dmark or unigine superposition.

Furmark is a stress test, not necessarily intended as a measured performance test. It's mostly to test cooling and stability after overclocking, if it crashes then you need to dial it back. The numbers aren't really gonna mean anything.

If you're not trolling, Furmark doesn't stop. It's supposed to be a stress test, that you run for a while to see what your max temperatures are. Typically you run the card for about 30 minutes, and if it doesn't have any failures, it's a good card. If you've run it for 14 hours, and it hasn't failed, you've certainly got a good card. Record the max temp of the card, then end the run.

The Nvidia control panel should have per-program options to choose a graphics device for the program. Assuming windows power plan does not interfere, that should stick.
