Hy i came across this japanese style futon bed as i was searching for a new bed, since i sleep very good on a futon bed. Does anyone have any experience with this bed and matras i was thinking of putting the tatami mats under the matras that way it is even more comfy. Does anyone know what the ikea variant is called so i can do some research? Thanks!
I had this futon mattress I think scene 2019 and the mattress for this is uncomfortable also the bed has split in the middle which means you can't sleep in the middle cause it will cause back pain and when you make It a couch it will slip off the frame. It was a Perfect bed when I first got it but age ruined it and my guess is the mattress fault
So Basically I'm asking for futon mattress replacement I think thats the reason why it's causing all these problems and the comfinest is not so comfy
This is the link (I would show images of the measurements. But I can't send images and also this current mattress has a split in the middle so. I don't know if you have to find a better replacement with same look idk https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/nyhamn-sleeper-sofa-with-foam-mattress-knisa-gray-beige-s39306373/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=surfaces&utm_campaign=shopping_feed&utm_content=free_google_shopping_clicks_Living_room_seating
thanks any help works! 👍
Alright, here’s the deal: several years ago I was sleeping on an ikea futon the ikea lycksele lovas and had a 2” memory foam topper on top. It was great! No motion transfer, plenty cool, good edge support, some sink but not too much... but it wasn’t an “adult” bed.
So we tossed it and got a queen size purple mattress (the og). It was great at first, but the motion transfer is killing me, and the poor edge support means we’re constantly moving together towards the middle. The thing also absolutely chews through sheets. I’m pretty done with it after about 2 years of trying to make it work.
I’m tempted to go and grab a high density foam mattress and throw a topper on it to get back what I had before. Am I crazy? Is there a better option for that type of feel? I’ve gone to stores and tried Casper and leesa and overall been somewhat unimpressed by hybrids. I can’t honestly say I’ve tried many pure memory foam mattresses just because it seems more cost effective to get a topper I can swap out every couple years. Are there things I’m missing? Brands/models I should go hunt for to try out?
Thank you for any insights you can provide. I’ve been lurking for a while but haven’t been able to describe what I’m looking for in searchable terms.
We got a small futon about 5 years ago from ikea. It is 65 inches long, and the seat depth and back height is roughly 18.5 inches each, so when mattress is flat it's roughly 37x65. This seems to be a strange small size and I can't find anything online close to it.
We want to put a cover on it now but it seems impossible!
