Factsheet
Years ago I signed up for Google's G Suite. It's been a great service...and free all these years. I get to use my own domain name for emails is really the only feature I care about. So to get my email I go to mail.MYDOMAIN.com...which is managed by Gmail and really just routes me to gmail.com, and of course if anyone emails me at [email protected] it gets to me. This is only for my personal family, so 5 accounts.
Now with G Suite Legacy getting cancelled, I need to find a replacement. Google wants $6-12/ month (per mailbox) for this functionality, which is too expensive in my opinion. So my options right now are:
-
Switch to Google Workspace, which will cost me $30-60/month just so we can use my domain name for emails
-
Switch to using Gmail...free, but requires us to all get new emails and not my vanity domain (UGH)
-
Switch to another service. My domain name provider (Namecheap) offers email 5 mailboxes for $3.50/month...which seems like a fair deal.
So my question to you all is, what would you recommend? Is there other good providers you'd recommend?
