r/galaxybuds on Reddit: Quick Galaxy Buds 2 Pro vs Buds Fe comparison
October 12, 2023 -

Received my Galaxy buds FE today today so i could compare them to the buds 2 pro which I have been using for a few weeks now.

In no particular order or sense I will write a few differences I noticed, and ultimately I will be sticking to the buds 2 pro.

I will basically only cover the reasons that I will be picking one over the other. If you have any questions feel free to ask. But I will be returning the bud FE, especially because I got the buds 2 pro for a really good price.

First difference I noticed is the sound. Buds Fe have a bit better bass at a lower level. You can feel the difference. The sound balance seems better on the Pros, and the bass is still really good. I am a bass head as all I listen to is rap and house music. You will definitely notice and like the bass on the FEs better the the 2 pros.

The Buds FE do not have the voice detect feature like the buds 2 pro, as well as the Labs setting where you can tap the back of your ear twice to lower or raise the volume. I really enjoy these 2 features on my buds 2 pro as they help in my work setting. This and the fit are the reasons why im sticking with the bud 2 pro.

My main reason for getting the buds FE was to compare the wing tip feature, and for my ears, the wing tip feature doesn't work. the buds don't sit in my ear enough for the wing tip to reach a part of my ear to hold it in better. I tired changing the ear tips to see if that would help, and it really didnt. The buds pro 2 and buds FE have different shaped ear tips, but neither worked well.

Im not going to hold onto the buds FE long enough to check the battery as im fine with the battery in the buds 2 pro. I never listen to music for long enough stretches to run out of battery before I can get it back onto the wireless charger.

I will be sticking with the buds 2 pro because of the extra features, and the current fit I have with the Azla Sedna Standard Max ear tips has done a decent job a relieving my ongoing stress of the ear buds falling out. I went for a run and a mountain bike ride and didn't have to adjust the buds once.

A few other points:

The buds FE do stick out of your ears more. With the new Azla tips on the buds 2 pro, the buds sit quite deep in my ear, which really helps hide them better.

Really slippery case, I now see why the provide a free silicone case if you buy on samsung website.

Samsung Galaxy Buds FE 2 earbuds specs spotted, revealing bigger battery and even Wi-Fi support | TechRadar
April 17, 2025 - We'll wait and see – but whatever the moniker, they'll almost certainly be successors to the entry-level Buds FE. Specs in the FCC filing suggest a 200mAh battery in the buds with a charging case that houses a 500mAh power pack. Given that the original Galaxy Buds FE's case carried a 479mAh battery (to boast a maximum 30-hour playtime with the buds) it's a nice update – particularly when you consider that in Xiaomi's recent two-strong Buds Pro 5 release, the buds boasting Wi-Fi support actually carried a better battery life claim than the regular Bluetooth set.

Hi, I'm torn between buds fe and buds 2 as in my country they basically have the same price.

Is the sound quality drastically better on the 2?

Buds2 have a Two-way speaker as opposed to FE's One-way speaker. What that means basically is that inside the Buds2 there are essentially 2 speakers, a woofer to reproduce the bass, and a tweeter to reproduce the Mid to High Frequencies. The FE has only one speaker that produces both the bass and high frequencies. Having a 2-way speaker allows for the frequencies to operate separately so they won't clash, consequently you get a much more accurate sound, a well defined bass, and crisper and clearer mids and highs. That being said, I personally haven't tried either, but I've had the Buds Pro and the Buds2 Pro both which are equipped with two-way drivers, and I've also had the chance to test other one-way driver earbuds like one of the soundcore and the realme ones. Some people still do prefer the FEs over the Buds2, so it may honestly be a matter of preference if you normally can't really tell the difference between 1-way and 2-way or it doesn't really bother you much, because the FE is still a good pair of earbuds. Also take in consideration other factors, a lot of people say that the fit on the FEs is really good also the material used and the build quality seems nice, so it may really differ from one person to another depending on what they're looking for in earbuds. If you can somehow try them, if perhaps a friend has them then I think this will help you a lot. For me, when I was recently buying a new pair I excluded the FEs when I learned that they have a 1-way driver since it's a deal breaker for me personally, and this is only because I'm a nitpicker when it comes to sound, this maybe won't matter to you personally so it really comes down to what really matters the most to you.

I think the 2s probably sound better but I will say the fit of the FE is the best for me. They are the only buds I've had that actually have passed fit test and feel secure. If fit is your main priority that is their strength to me (they also have the wing tips like older Samsung buds did). But sound and anc I'd say the 2s are better
