How to control the volume on Galaxy Buds Pro with touch gestures - PhoneArena
January 21, 2021 - Now that you're in the Galaxy Wearable app, you can adjust plenty of things about your Galaxy Buds Pro, such as how music sounds or how strong active noise cancellation is. But what we want to do first is tap on the "Touch and hold" option, which will let us change what the "touch and hold" gesture does for each earbud.

The Buds 3 Pro Touch Controls Are So Good
That and the voice commands make these buds so easy to control, probably the best thing about these buds for me. It would be cool if they could do software updates that add more commands More on reddit.com

Galaxy Buds 2 touch controls are terrible
Yeah, that is something they need to fix with next year's Buds. It feels like it is getting worse with every generation as their "solution" to the accidental touches seems to be to use larger touch surfaces. If that is their solution they also have to start using accidental touch algorithms for the edges. More on reddit.com

August 27, 2022 - Actually tapping on the edge of your earbud is liable to trigger normal touch controls—the outer surface of the earbud is touch-sensitive, so a double-tap on the edge could skip a track.

Solved: Galaxy Buds touch controls - Samsung Community - 2647896
September 5, 2023 - The touch controls on Galaxy Buds should be more customizable. You should be able to choose what each command does instead of just being able to toggle commands on/off. For instance being able to change single tap to volume up/down per ear.

Use touchpad commands for your Samsung Galaxy earbuds
Alternatively, if you’d like to disable the earbuds' touchpads, you can navigate back to the main touchpad settings page, and tap the switch next to Touch controls. On the Galaxy Buds Pro, Buds2, and Buds2 Pro, you can adjust the volume using the earbud tips, even if you have other touchpad commands set up.

r/galaxybuds on Reddit: The Buds 3 Pro Touch Controls Are So Good
July 3, 2024 -

This is the best method of controlling ear buds I've ever had. I recently switched from the Buds Pro to the Buds3 Pro and it's a night and day difference in terms of controls. The Buds Pro would always accidentally click themselves, but the Buds3 Pro's pinching and swiping mechanic is so satisfying.

The pinch mechanic is so freaking satisfying and actually feels like clicking a button. I believe it's using capacitive buttons and that completely fixes the problem of accidental touches. Again tho that clicking sounds is so satisfying, the best way I can describe it is like clicking a mouse it feels and sounds just like that. The swiping isn't as impressive but it also feels good as once you get used to it it feels second nature.

November 20, 2025 - One UI 8.5 leak offers an early Galaxy Buds 4 Pro preview. Samsung swaps the Buds 3 blade stems for flatter metal ones, adds head gesture controls, and a case button to ring your phone. A S26 era launch in early 2026 looks likely.

November 17, 2025 - For people with limited grip strength, or anyone wearing gloves or carrying bags, those gestures add a third control layer alongside touch and voice. If Samsung wires this into One UI 8.5 across phones and wearables, it could set up a shared gesture language that stretches beyond earbuds. ... Why should I care? If you spend most of the day with something in your ears, these tweaks matter more than a new paint job. Buds that are easier to control and carry can quietly become the ones you actually keep using.

November 21, 2025 - It also adds an accessibility layer for those who benefit from touch-free controls. The key will be calibration. Sony provides sensitivity settings in its app that can reduce accidental triggers, and I expect Samsung to offer similar protection options and per-gesture customization so users can choose what feels natural. Even with the design shift, core staples from the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro should return: adaptive active noise cancellation, multi-point connectivity, and seamless device handoff in Samsung's ecosystem.
