Will the Pro be supported on the Galaxy Buds App on iOS? Nobody seems to know for sure and there isn’t anything clear cut on the Samsung website and very few outlets have mentioned it. Just wondering!

Doesn’t seem like IOS will be able to use the app for the pro, excerpt from Engadget article about the Buds Pro. Unlike the Galaxy Buds+, there’s no deep integration with iOS this time around. The Galaxy Buds Pro’s features won’t be available inside a companion app for those devices like they were on that previous model. You can still use the earbuds with your iPhone or iPad, but ANC and ambient sound settings you have active will be what carries over to those devices. To make any changes, you’ll need to jump back to the Galaxy Wearable app on a Samsung device. https://www.engadget.com/samsung-galaxy-buds-pro-price-specs-release-date-150040345.html

Lifelong Android user making the switch to Apple (just couldn't stand the lack of interop for messaging, Facetime, etc with friends and family). I have managed to survive the transition, but the lack of support for the Buds Pro is disappointing, but it isn't as terrible as I thought. As others have mentioned, they seem to retain the settings when set from the Sammy app on my Android. The touch controls and ANC are working fine and the ANC will even switch off when receiving a phone call - which is good. In short, the app seems to simply serve as an interface to change the settings on the buds and of course, update the firmware. About the only thing I am missing is that I used the Galaxy widget to easily turn on/off the touch controls as the touch controls would randomly turn on after being tuned off, but I can live with them just being on all the time. I am basing this off of my experience and haven't seen any documentation confirming, but hope this helps.

r/galaxybuds on Reddit: Why isn’t the galaxy wearable app compatible with the OG galaxy buds?
August 13, 2020 -

Only seems to work with the + version.

I’ve been having issues with my buds for about a year, the left bus is really quiet. I’m unsure how to pull the grill off to check for earwax. But I really wanted to access the extra settings the app provides, like better EQ and things like that.

Any idea where I can get a version of the app compatible with the OG buds? I have an iPhone

Edit—

I double checked the app in the Applestore. It says that the app no longer supports the Galaxy buds SM-R170 & Galaxy buds pro SM-R190, dispute claiming 100% iOS support in the past and on the website.

The original buds came out in 2019. This is a major misstep by Samsung. Anyone who owns any of the newer pairs might even lose the ability to use the app within the next year or so!

This is truly an bamboozling choice by Samsung & the fact that not many people are aware of this is shocking.

Disappointing. Check out the AppStore reviews. My buds are now next to useless. :(
