Once players have acquired a property, they can get to work on their garden patch (purchased from Housing Merchants). Flower growth will depend on soil and fertilizer, and as in real-life, failing to tend to the patch will cause them to wither, but it's satisfying to see the hard work bloom.

r/roblox on Reddit: I do not understand the hate towards Grow a Garden
May 18, 2025 -

I may be a little biased since I do enjoy playing the game, but I also just don't understand the hate towards the game.

ROBLOX is targetted towards children, so a majority of the platform is under 12. Bright colours and simplicity are known to get children's attention, which is what Grow a Garden is and has.

I also see people mention that other games deserve to have 5mil+ active players. While yes, I agree to a point where 'good' games deserve more players.

The adjective 'good' is very flexible. People say Grow a Garden is 'good' while others say it's bad. But what truly makes a game 'good' and 'bad'? It's subjective. It's just like how you (yes you, everyone has a movie like that) will love a movie and say it's 'good' while there are a lot more people saying that it's 'bad' and that they do not like it.

What I'm trying to get at is that adjectives like 'good' and 'bad' are flexible and just because someone says a game is 'bad' doesn't make it BAD. It's all about what people enjoy. At the end of the day, enjoy what you do and like what you like. Don't let others dictate what you like.

If someone could give me a reason as to why they don't like it, I'd love to hear it :)

Common Mistakes to Avoid in Grow a Garden
August 7, 2025 - Success in Grow a Garden is all about capital velocity—how quickly players can reinvest in better seeds will end up making all the difference. Carrots have the slowest return in the game. Smart players use them only to scrape together the first 50 shekels for strawberries.

r/growagarden on Reddit: I’m DONE with Grow a Garden.
June 15, 2025 -

I don’t even know where to begin. I’m shaking. My keyboard is damp with frustration. I’ve tried, genuinely tried, to play Grow a Garden like a normal person, but this game has absolutely ruined me — mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and honestly physically too. I log in every single day, water my sad little patch of land, plant my seeds with what little hope I have left, and harvest what can only be described as the most embarrassingly tiny crops imaginable.

Meanwhile, everyone around me is pulling gigantic, god-tier fruits out of the ground like they were hand-selected by some divine horticulture algorithm. My mangos look like rat tails. My coconuts could fit inside a Tic Tac box. My beanstalks? Barely sprouts. Baby green worms. And the ember lily? It looks like someone dropped a used matchstick in the dirt. This isn’t farming. This is emotional damage in the shape of produce.

Let’s talk about the Sugar Apple. The elusive, probably fake, mythical Sugar Apple. I’m convinced it doesn’t exist. I’ve never seen one naturally. The only people with it are the Robux whales. You know who you are — you casually dropped 819 Robux on an egg and pulled one like it’s no big deal. Must be nice. Meanwhile, I’m out here grinding like a medieval peasant and getting nothing but emotionally exhausting carrots.

And those eggs — that’s the real problem. Why is the only reliable way to get anything decent hidden behind those Robux eggs? Maybe you get a disco bee. Maybe you get another wasp. Me? I’ve never bought one. I stood my ground. And what did I get in return? Micro-crops and sadness. Meanwhile, some guy named xrobuxspenderxx just pulled his fourth Sugar Apple and is doing circles around spawn like he owns the server. His aura is glowing. Mine is decaying.

People keep saying “it’s just RNG bro,” or “keep trying bro.” No. I’ve tried. I’ve watered. I’ve composted. I’ve sung lullabies to my soil. I’ve done weird rituals in chat hoping the farming gods would show me mercy. Nothing works. Not even the sprinklers. So don’t tell me it’s luck. Every time I harvest, the plants are smaller than my will to keep playing. Ever grow a beanstalk shorter than your Roblox avatar’s leg? I have. It’s humiliating.

All my friends have left me behind. Their gardens are booming. They’ve got ember lilies that light up the entire biome. Meanwhile, mine flicker once and collapse like they saw a jump scare. No one wants to trade with me. No one even visits my garden anymore. They take one look and leave. This game has stripped me of my pride. I am a husk. A dried-up coconut of a man.

I’m logging out. I’m walking away. I can’t do it anymore. The Sugar Apple broke me. The eggs broke me. The beanstalks broke me. I refuse to spend another ounce of Robux or emotional energy chasing a fruit I may never even see.

Goodbye. And if you’re one of the lucky few with Sugar Apples right now… just know I’m watching. Crying. Bitter. Covered in digital dirt and holding a 3-pixel carrot.

Rarest Seeds In Grow A Garden
September 9, 2025 - Within Grow a Garden’s bustling player economy, true collectors know that rarity is never just about supply; it’s about history, bragging rights, and sometimes being lucky at exactly the right moment. The real power of these seeds isn’t tied to shekel multipliers or fruit value. It’s about status: the subtle flex when a player spots a Cherry Blossom tree in a garden and realizes it’s not supposed to exist. The rarest seeds in this Roblox game emerged from a perfect storm of circumstances: developer glitches that lasted mere hours, joke items that became accidental icons, and event exclusives that never returned.

r/growagarden on Reddit: I'm probably gonna quit grow a garden and here's why
July 20, 2025 -

So I don't normally support the hate posts, but this update has so much wrong with it. Read as much as you want, because this will be pretty long.

The zen update clearly shows how little they actually care about the players. Most people picture Jandel as some game developer who cares about his fanbase, but they don't realize he cares mostly about the money. First, they made the best pet in the game rarer than raccoon (which makes sense) and helped you get it by implementing the koi. Less then a day after the update released, he changed the ability probably because too many people were getting kitsune. Not to mention that he added the tranquil radar. I spent my last coins on one because I thought it would collect all of the tranquil fruit. I got bothing because it only scans like a 50 stud radius around the player. And they thought that restocking a sugar apple (idk some prismatic) would make it better when all the pros have at least 5 of them. He even did a poll to nerf honeysuckle (which I did want to be nerfed) and people said to not nerf it. And he still nerfed it from what I saw. They don't even think stuff through. With the moon mango and sugar apple, he made them insanely good but only realized after the update, so he had to immensely downgrade them.

The admin abuse: I haven't missed a update release since the night update, but the admin abuse is getting worse and worse. They are making awesome events like alien invasion and volcano but the you barely get anything mutated. I got 2 alienlike, 1 molten, and 3 infected. Those all have very good multipliers, but they don't even get on anything.

This game is mostly about pets now, and barely anyone cares about making their garden look good. All my friends who used to have gardens like the Amazon rainforest now have 2 giant Burning buds, moon melons, and massive bone blossoms. I have a ton of stuff in my garden, and it looks like a cluttered mess. I got some amber sprays and put it on my giant burning buds with tons of mutations including admin ones, and my garden turned into a giant yellow cube, so I had to spray all of them and get rid of their mutations. Back to the pets. The only things people care about is getting a raccoon army and getting trillions. And the way a lot of them do that is by hatching a rare pet then scamming people for more of them. My best pet is a bear bee, and I almost got scammed for a mimic octopus.

I have a complaint about cosmetics too. I tried to make a Zen garden with what I had, so I planted some bamboo around, and for some reason, there was a sandstorm, a bunch of rain, and like 5 frosts. And suddenly everything had clay or frozen, and it was all ruined. I had to unfavorite all of them, cleaning spray them, then favorite them again. If you say to make it without fruits as part of the decoration, think again. The only way to get the Zen cosmetics is through Zen crates, which cost the event currency. And they cost way too much. I want to get kitsune and maple apple, so I never have enough to get them. If you say to use the t-rex and stegosaurus method, I don't have t-rex. I've never gotten lucky with eggs, and I don't scam people or spend Robux to get stuff.

I'm not ungrateful like a lot of those people that post on here, it's just that the game has turned from a gardening game to a P2W pet simulator. And if you don't want to do that, they even make it hard to get cosmetics. The Dino update was the perfect update from my opinion. It was chill, and you actually got rewarded for doing it. This update requires so much commitment and even with P2W you still probably won't get what you want. I'm beginning to shy away from grow a garden due to everything I just listed. Also, once you reached the late game, there's nothing you can do without P2W, as it basically becomes a game about getting pets. I don't really enjoy it much anymore as it isn't just a calm gardening game. Please correct me on any inaccuracies. As a reminder, this is completely biased and objective, but I will stand by my opinion. Feel free to hate on me for being "ungrateful" but I will know that you probably didn't read the whole thing. If you did read this much, then thank you.

r/growagarden on Reddit: Grow A Garden is getting stupidly boring, and I QUIT.
July 24, 2025 -

For the past few weeks I have been playing Grow A Garden, I've had LOTS of fun. The updates, events, and admin weathers. The game was extremely fitting for me.

But NOW,

The game has gotten stupidly boring for the past few days. I have been scammed from of two dragonflies my friend had given me for my birthday in a private server with a fake middleman. I am so damn FRUSTRATED.

Secondly, The new Zen update is SUPER grindy, with Kitsune being 0.08% chance!! (I have NOT received a pet below 0.5% after 200+ eggs!)

It sort of has the same concept, idea, like the Bizzy event, but it just feels so GRINDY and BORING. It's wasting my time and my electricity.

This Zen event might just be the worst one out of all the other updates I have played in Grow A Garden.

Lastly, There are WAYY too many greedy scammers out here in this game. It's just honestly super annoying. Almost every server I hop on there would be atleast a scammer, a beggar, or both.

This game gave me way too much trust issues so now, I'm stepping down from Grow A Garden.

I am NOT coming back to this game ever again. I quit. At this point I'll just do something better in life.

Note: I have read many of your comments down below and I laughed about how people were making jokes and calling me stupid about this situation (cause obviously it was my fault). Atleast I learned my lesson but I won't ever come back to the game again!

May 9, 2025 - Kitsuni has outshined all other fruit-stealing critters in Grow a Garden. It’s even better than Raccoon because not only can it steal a plant for you like Candy Blossom, but it also raises that plant’s value by 15x or even 90x before giving it to you. Dragonfly and Butterfly are also OP critters since they give you the two most valuable variants in the game: Gold and Rainbow.

r/roblox on Reddit: Grow a Garden isn't going to last long and we all know it
July 6, 2025 -

I mean, it's kinda obvious. None of these games really last long. Sure it's the most popular game on roblox but none of these games really last longer than 2 years. Plus also it's a simulator. The only simulator I know that has actually lasted a while with a decent amount of players is Bee Swarm Simulator. Grow a garden won't be able to compare to other games like Counter-Strike 2 either. Having a bigger amount of peak players doesn't mean it's going to last longer. So, from my beleifs, grow a garden isn't going to last longer than 2 years.

r/growagarden on Reddit: Grow a Garden is being torn apart by its own community — not by the devs
November 2, 2025 -

Every single week it’s the same cycle: scream for more content → devs deliver insane content → community finds something new to complain about.

The Halloween event was massive. 3 weeks of content on top of content. Unique content. Exclusive FREE items. A LIVE musical guest 🤯20+ new pets, That alone puts GaG above all Roblox games….

Yet instead of saying “wow, incredible”… the comments are: “Why the pay wall?” “Why the waiting?” “Where are stocks?” “Why no weather?” “Why didn’t I get X?”

Two sides. Two extremes. One side wants cozy / chill. The other side wants grind / nonstop progression. The devs try to balance both — and whichever side gets attention, the other flips the table.

Same with admins abuse. They asked and the community literally voted Jandal 3 weeks ago. Now suddenly everyone changed tune and demands Jhai.

It’s chaos — because the player base can’t agree on what game it even wants.

The REAL problem:

The devs are trying too hard to make EVERYONE happy.

And that is completely impossible.

This game needs to return to its original vision. Let the devs build the game THEY want to build.

Pick what YOU enjoy and play it. Don’t like stocks? Ignore them. Don’t like events? Don’t grind them. Games don’t have to be 100% catered to your personal playstyle every single week.

And for the “cash grab” comments — stop. People don’t create content and update weekly just to work for free. This is a business AND a passion project.

This community needs to take a breath.

There’s magic happening here… …but if players keep tearing each other apart — we’ll be the ones who ruin the game, not the devs.

Choose your lane. Support the game you love. Stop trying to micromanage every decision.

Grow a Garden could be one of the greatest Roblox communities (like IT WAS) — if we stop fighting long enough to let it be.

End rant. 😅
