First off, can I trade in my PS5 for a Pro? If so, Is there a discount? And two, how am I supposed to transfer my PS5 over to the Pro if I trade it in?
So I may want to trade in my ps5 and games to get a store credit how much do you think I can get and is it worth it for pro membership

Make sure you have everything. I can live without an hdmi or the stand/triangles but the less you have the more it costs you.
Be over 18 and have a valid license. self explanatory. How did you even get here without one? And don't harrass my customers for their's. We also have a card reader, I can't use your phone.
Make sure you clean it. I can't take it sellable if it turns on but has some massive fuck-all stickers on it and burn marks from all the blunts you've put out on it. "Peel the stickers" and stain it forever because the whole damn console is white. "Use the Goo Gone" and realize it took more than 5 minutes to clean anyway. Doesn't fix the burn marks either.
Make sure it's opened. If you have a fresh PS5 Pro, sealed, how the fuck am I supposed to know if it was stolen or not. Show me whatever reciept you want, if you open it and come back I still can't take it. And if you start complaining that the resale value is lower now that you opened it, I couldn't be happier for you.
And most importantly... make sure it's yours. Because if it's not, and your brother comes in, shouting and screaming at me that he wants his game back, and he can't take the prepaid card, there's nothing I can do. All trades are final. You have to file a police report.
Almost all of these happened within the span of last week. The, "harrassing customers for their id" shit was months ago but still bad enough to be brought up. And plenty of youngsters and people that forgot have stopped by between then and now.
Also, what is it with all the resistance on prepaid cards? There's a Chase bank right across the street and if you need the grocery money it's right fucking there on the card. Every store accepts it, it's not gs store credit. And the customers NEVER have venmo either!
Considering trading in ps5 for $300 credit at GameStop to upgrade to pro. Has anyone done this? Almost have a hard time trading in since I have all my PlayStations in storage
FYI for anyone who wants to trade in their base ps5’s for the ps5 pro ! (Canada)
So I tried to trade in my PS5 at GameStop towards a pro and when they tried to scan the serial number it came up as invalid. They tried going through it again and it came up as invalid again and they said they’ve never seen that before but they could not take the trade in. They said it might be an issue with their system and to try another GameStop. Has anyone encountered an issue like this?
I’m trying to decide on whether I want to trade in my base PS5 for $267 towards a PS5 Pro or just keep it and use it for LAN parties/4k player in a different room or as a dedicated Portal device next to my router. Is the current trade in value a good value for what the base units go for these days or should I hold onto it. I plan on getting the Pro either way.
This is insane! Now it’s best to sell the ps5 second hand.
Planning on trading my ps5 in on switch 2 release day but was seeing that the stand is required. I don’t have one so will they still accept it without the stand?
Right now GameStop is offering 357 store credit for the PS5 disk. But im worried if this price will go up or down in the weeks leading to the PS5 Pro release.
How often does Gamestop run tradein promotions that coincide with new console launches ?
Also I hear theres Pro week coming up on the 26th ? Will they up the trade value even more ?
Or will they have an oversupply of used PS5's and its best to trade it in now ?
Lady ripped the box and the handle of my ps5 box, put it upside down and let the whole thing drop on the floor. Luckily i had it in the protective cardboard the ps5 came wrapped in. But holy shit did she just let the controller, wires and stand just fall on the floor. Then kicked the box away and told her coworker in an attempt to be cute and said "mind cleaning up the mess?" With a fake smile. Super RBF too i was like "i just wanna gtfo here 😭"
Anyway ye
Edit: All love fellas! I know it was a mistake to take the og box in with the system, but just a funny and weird experience I had lol. I don't hate or despise the employees mishandling! If the console broke after the drop, then i would have issues....
Gamestop employees: "Wow, customers don't respect their electronics and bring us roach infested consoles, I can't stand them."
Also employees: "You brought your PS5 in its original packaging, let me just proceed to destroy it and drop the console on the floor. You're a fucking loser for bringing the box in anyways."
What the (beep)
Any tips? Are there any current trade in specials?
Way back when I got a launch PS5, model CFI-1015A. This past holiday I picked up a slim as well and my launch console has been packed back in the factory box. Over the weekend I learned with pro membership and a $25 trade boost, GameStop is giving $410 in trade credit for any disc PS5 console. Yet at the same time they sell it used for $470 or $445 with pro membership.
This felt like way too good of a deal with the impending PS5 Pro release so I hesitated yet reluctantly traded it in, since the collector in me wants to keep it as it’s the first edition with the larger heatsink (CFI-1015A).
Am I missing something… is this trade offer too good?
Ps5 took a fall off a tall dresser and now it won't power on. Will game stop accept it for trade in?
I see GameStop has a trade in promotion right now where if you trade in select consoles you get an extra 50$ towards a ps5 plus the already discounted ps5 that’s 50$ off. On top of all that i saw that consoles can stack theoretically meaning i can get an extra 150-200 if i trade in multiple consoles plus the ps5 discount. This sounds too good to be true, so i was wondering what you guys know about this. Also what consoles are eligible because no where on the site does it say and no other sites even reported on this promotion.
