Don't buy Build Redux PCs u/Funniestpersonhere suggested, their PCs are terribly overpriced. The best bang for your buck would be this inexpensive Dell XPS: CAD $1400 for i7-11700 and RTX 3060 (link).

This PC is $1600, but it can be trimmed down to $1500 by reducing the amount of ram to 16gb. I chose the 5600X over the 3700X as the 5600X has much better single threaded performance, which is what programs like AutoCAD and SolidWorks prefer, they do not really take advantage of multicore the way fluid simulations or FEM does. Gaming performance of the 5600X is also benchmarked higher than the 3700X, and today’s games aren’t really equipped to take advantage of more than 6 cores yet anyway. If you prefer the 3700X for its 2 extra cores, just swap the CPUs, it’s a straight swap no other changes needed. Went with 32gb of 3200mhz ram as it’s decently fast, and 32gb is useful if you do a lot of work with CAD. You could probably get away with 16gb so save money here if needed. 1TB SSD for both boot and storage, this one is TLC NVME but has no dram, so you might want to spend $15 more on the Kingston A2000 instead. Chose a motherboard with strong VRMs since you mentioned possible OC down the line, and a 650w PSU to enable that. The RTX 2060 is a perfectly capable gaming GPU, even though the RTX 3060 is a much better card for about the same price but you can’t find that anywhere, if you manage to find one, great, just buy that instead. Finally, for case and cooling, I went with the P300A Mesh with 2 additional 140mm fans for the front. For some reason the 140mms are cheaper than 120mms. You might want a third of those as top exhaust to balance out the airflow. I didn’t include a cpu cooler as the stock one is fine, but if you’re gonna OC, you’ll want to upgrade later on.
