Had them, hated them. They bowed up in the sun. I left a gap around the edge but then put things on it that didn't allow the floor to float (snowblower, riding mower, things like that) They were noisy to walk on. Dirt (especially oily dirt) would get in the cracks and never come clean. They looked cool initially but got grungy fast. They made my whole garage feel cheap. To be fair it was a tight budget but in the end I preferred the old shitty carpet over the floor tiles. They got kinda slippery when oil spilled and then you couldn't wipe it up with a quick swipe because of the raised texture. Almost everyone clicking this thread will think you mean plastic snap together tiles, even after your swisstrax edit. Ceramic tiles are about as baller as it gets when it comes to high performance shop flooring, followed by polished concrete. The plastic tiles are total shit and looks like absolute ass in a few years or months and never comes clean. Epoxy flooring is for people who want to take pictures of their Audi and watch MMA in their "man cave" If you're going to put down a coating there is a MCU coating called Hellfire that holds up to abuse well and can be recoated without removing the old coating, but if tile is in your budget definitely do tile.
