Could international troops be sent to Gaza? Here's why Trump's plan hinges on it
1 week ago - He said Hamas wants its disarmament to happen alongside withdrawal of Israeli troops and the opening of Gaza's Rafah border with Egypt for people who want to leave and return. He said it is unreasonable for Israel to insist on disarmament first. "We will not negotiate without cards in our hands. That would be illogical and unrealistic," Badran said. Mediators Egypt and Qatar say Israel is not allowing in the quantity or type of aid agreed to in the ceasefire deal, despite Israel saying it's allowing in hundreds of trucks of goods daily.

The Gaza Cease-Fire Was Always Going to End
But Gazans have no ability to control or restrain Hamas Why everyone assume that the gazans even wants to restrain or get rid of them? And why people tend to speak about Hamas as if it's bunch of outsiders which came out of nowhere to Gaza and made the gazans lifes miserable? Hamas is made out of gazans and Hamas was created because many gazans wanted it. Nothing about it is happening randomly, Hamas is the cause for all of this destruction and the "ordinary gazans" are the cause that hamas could've exist and be terrorists to begin with. Hamas is ready to discuss freezing or storing its weapons, senior official says | AP News
Israel has accused Hamas of dragging out the hostage returns, while Palestinian health officials say over 370 Palestinians have been killed in continued Israeli strikes since the ceasefire took effect. Israel says its strikes have been in response to Palestinian violations, including the movement of Palestinians into the Israeli-held half of Gaza.

Israel has destroyed more than 1,500 buildings in Gaza since ceasefire
November 12, 2025 - BBC Verify's visual analysis of satellite imagery has found that the destruction of buildings in Gaza by the Israeli military has been continuing on a huge scale. We used a change detection algorithm to analyse radar images taken before and after the ceasefire to highlight changes, which might indicate destruction, then manually counted visibly destroyed buildings.

'There is no real ceasefire' — why the plan to end war in Gaza has stalled, with few countries willing to help | CBC News
3 days ago - Panellists on Israeli Channel 12 discuss the status of the ceasefire with Hamas, on Dec. 18. (Channel 12 Israel) That, in a nutshell, is why the 20-point plan agreed to by Israel and Hamas, brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump, backed by Qatar, Turkey and Egypt and endorsed by the UN Security Council, is now effectively on life support. Like the donkey carts trudging along Gaza’s windy, rain-soaked dirt roads, it will take an immense effort by someone — likely only Trump — to get things moving again.

r/IsraelPalestine on Reddit: Why did Israel break the ceasefire in march
August 31, 2025 -
Here in Italy the people who shouted genocide were perplexed by the new agreement, and now everyone repeats that in March it was Israel that broke the ceasefire. If I understand correctly (from Wikipedia), at a certain point Hamas wanted to move to phase two, while Israel wanted to extend phase one? What is the difference between these two "phases"? Put like this, it would seem that Israel is responsible for not having kept the initial agreement?

The 1st phase of ceasefire had a timer on it , which was supposed to be extended by negotiating the 2nd phase. Hamas wouldn't disarm, which was israel's condition for a full withdrawal, which was hamas' condition for phase 2. The impasse prevented a phase 2 agreement, and hamas refused to extend phase 1, so time ran out on the 1st phase and fighting resumed.

Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in Gaza continues unabated despite ceasefire - Amnesty International
1 month ago - More than a month after a ceasefire was announced and all living Israeli hostages were released, Israeli authorities are still committing genocide against Palestinians in the occupied Gaza Strip, by continuing to deliberately inflict conditions of life calculated to bring about their physical destruction, without signalling any change in their intent, said Amnesty International today.

Explainer: What's next for the Gaza ceasefire and will the truce last? | Reuters
1 week ago - Hamas says fewer trucks are entering Gaza than was agreed. Aid agencies say there is far less aid than required, and that Israel is blocking many necessary items from coming in. Israel denies that and says it is abiding by its obligations under the truce. The Rafah border crossing into Egypt was meant to be opened in the first phase of the ceasefire.
