May 23, 2025 - This release is a bug-fix release, containing fixes for regressions in GCC 14.2 relative to previous releases of GCC.

February 16, 2025 - GCC 14.2, with fixes to over 100 bugs, was released in August of the same year. Soon after, the openSUSE Tumbleweed Linux distribution began using this compiler to build its packages.

This is GCC 14.2.0-1 built as cross-compilers from macOS to arm-eabi or riscv64-elf, on macOS Sonoma (14, Darwin 23) but able to run on Monterey, for aarch64 silicon, with Command Line Utilities 15.3.0 and Python 3.9.13.

November 8, 2024 - I did a system upgrade on manjaro using yay -Syu. It appears it upgraded gcc to some experimental version. I tried reinstalling gcc13 but it didn’t fix the problem: export LDFLAGS="${LDFLAGS/-fuse-ld=mold/-fuse-ld=ld}" before trying to install. export CC=gcc-13 CXX=g++-13 before trying to install. yay -S base-devel installs the experimental gcc 14.2.1+r134+gab884fffe3fc-1 again if i try to uninstall it.

Some of those will report FAIL and others XPASS (pass when expected to FAIL). As of gcc-14.1.0, about 74 FAILs occur in the “guality” suite, as well as miscellaneous failures throughout the rest of the test suite.

August 8, 2024 - gcc@14.2 was just released but does not support darwin: *** Configuration aarch64-apple-darwin23.5.0 not supported. Homebrew is still on 14.1 so there are no available patches. I'm not familiar with where the patches are derived.
