Has anyone here ever taken the computer science course from GCC? I heard that the computer science course from uog is outdated and that the CS course in GCC is way better. I just want to know if getting a Associate's degree on CS in GCC is worth it.

Getting a degree is always worth it imo. If you are wanting to get into IT, alot of it is self-learning once you have a degree.

I don't know if it means anything but the courses for that degree are always filled up. Mostly becaue I think sometimes the company will send their employees to get more educated and trained in that field.

Hey! I'm currently a High School Senior looking to study computer science in college. Going to community college seems like the best option for me regarding finances, but I'm unsure of the education quality I'd be receiving at GCC or MCC, and I'd like to know which has the best program.
Pros for GCC:
Free, because my mother is a Mathematics professor at GCC
Closer to home
Pros for MCC:
Still not expensive when compared to essentially all 4-year institutions in the area
Any and all info regarding the quality of both of these programs are greatly appreciated, Thank you!

Free, especially at the community college level will be tough to turn down. It would be a great free foundation. If you want to jump to a 4 year after community college look at their transfer programs and stats. I can’t speak of GCC. But MCC has a great 2+2 programs. 2 years at MCC the 2 years at a state school. It’s the most cost advantageous option for a 4 year degree. I know MCC is great in that aspect. I would imagine GCC has a similar program, but look into that. And with all community colleges, really do in there and focus, kill your grades, and really build yourself to become an attractive transfer student.
