r/gigabyte on Reddit: X870 elite not booting with error code 00
December 18, 2024 -

Just built my new pc, but I get the error code 00 and red light on vga when trying to start it up.

What I have found so far in other posts:

  • 00 could mean CPU not found or smth, but before that the error code 15 is shown (memory bridge check), which indicates that the CPU is actually found (if I understand correctly)

  • the general advice of removing everything powering it (psu cable, CMOS battery) and leaving it overnight. Just tried it again, same issue.

  • other people had this error after flashing the bios incorrectly on older boards, but this is a new build, with stock bios (it should support out of the box).

Anyone experience with this kind of problem? And if not, do you know how I could contact support (Europe)? Thanks a lot!

Specs: Ryzen 7 9700x Fury beast ddr5 6000 30, it is supported according to the mb page Gigabyte rtx 4070 ti super Windforce (sure it works, recycled it from my previous build) Straight power 11 850W

r/gigabyte on Reddit: x870 aorus elite wifi7 ‘99’ and ‘00’ error code
August 20, 2025 -

I just did a new build and have had issue after issue. But I keep getting a ‘00’ or ‘99’ error code with a black screen.. Ive never gotten it past those codes and into bios.. I’ve replaced the motherboard 3x, SSD x2, PSU x2, CPU x3, and ram sticks x2. I’ve tried resetting bios, Q Flashing, reseating everything an ungodly amount of times, starting it with 1 stick of ram in every slot configuration possible, upgraded the cpu even.. I took it into a PC repair shop and he tested it with a different PSU and with a different GPU… He couldnt figure it out either and said it might be a dead motherboard, pin issues, or a bad CPU but theres no way ive gotten 3 dead mother boards and or 3 bad CPUs..

I ran it through pcpartpicker to verify compatibility for each component and manually verified it through the manufactures websites.. I’ve looked at every Reddit post with this error code… Nothing in any of them I haven’t tried including trying to boot it out of the case and with only PSU, GPU, and CPU & Cooler plugged in… I even called Gigibyte.. I can’t be just getting bad parts. I HAVE to be doing something wrong..

Here’s a pic of my setup.

Gigabyte Aorus Elite X870E Rev (1.2) - Code "00" - Red LED | Overclockers UK Forums
November 3, 2025 - All BIOS readouts look fine; CPU at clock speeds - 4.7x (no PBO) at 23/24c, RAM displaying correctly at 6000mhz after setting EXPO 1 I haven't installed my GPU yet, or installed an OS on my NVME M.2 (WD Black SN850x) I understand code "00" is a CPU issue, and the red LED is a RAM issue; I'm a little confused as I can boot in and out of BIOS just fine, and everything appears normal Any suggestions guys?

r/gigabyte on Reddit: X870E Aorus Pro Ice Motherboard Codes
April 2, 2025 -

Hi, I have an X870E Aorus Pro Ice (Rev 1.1) with an AMD 9950x3d CPU and compatible memory (currently using iGPU). I have all of the latest drivers and latest BIOS (FA2). Despite being able to boot into Windows without issue, I have some concerns about the motherboard codes I'm seeing. Are either of these a cause for concern and if so, is there any way to fix it? I am considering returning the motherboard and CPU. Any help is appreciated! Thank you.

When I'm in the BIOS: I see debug code 00 (I'm not sure if it is 00 or DO) and the the boot light is on. Code D0 is listed in the manual as being "CPU initialization error" and 00 is not listed.

When I am in Windows: I see code 08 (which is not listed in the manual, but I've heard it is a known issue). After updating the BIOS to FA2, I saw 00 in windows as well, but after a restart it went back to showing 08.

r/gigabyte on Reddit: 08 Error Code appeared
October 25, 2024 -

Hello everyone, about a week ago I finally finished my first PC build. You can check it out in my profile. The relevant Specs are Ryzen 9 7950X3D, ASRock Phantom Gaming Radeon RX 7900XT, Gigabyte X870e AORUS Pro Ice, 32gb DDR5 6400 Ram, and 1TB Kingston NVME SSD. I'm also using a Corsair 850W PSU.

It was built, and additionally an error code appeared on the motherboard, but it was fixed. Yesterday, after booting to Windows an 08 error code appeared. It boots and runs fine, but I want to figure it out. I have scanned the manual for any solution, and while it does suggest what the problem is, solutions seem to be hard to come by. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this error code, and if so, how did you fix it?

TLDR; 08 Error code appeared on Gigabyte X870e AORUS Pro Ice motherboard 3 days after having no errors.

November 27, 2024 -

I built a new PC with new parts except old SSD and GPU. It was working fine for 2 days after I built, then I decided to install asus armory crate to edit the rgb lights on the motherboard. After I installed it asked me if I wanted to auto optimize the cpu settings. I clicked yes and it finished. PC was working fine, so I left it on to go shower. Came back and saw a black screen and nothing was responding and my keyboard and mouse rgb weren't on anymore. Turned off/on and saw only code 00 on motherboard.

I've gotten replacement motherboard and psu already and tried removing everything except just the aio, cpu, and ram. Still doesn't get pass 00.

Is it the cpu that is fried? The sockets on the cpu doesn't look burnt.

r/gigabyte on Reddit: Red DRAM light, 00 code, no LEDs - X870E Aorus Elite won't post
July 20, 2025 -

Hi all, having no success in getting anywhere with this new X870E Aurus Elite, any and all suggestions hugely appreciated.

CPU is a 9900X3D, ram is two sticks of 32GB G.Skill Trident Z5 F5-6400J3239G32GX2-TZ5RK, which does feature in the board's compatibility list, AIO loop is preexisting from my prev setup and was working fine in that.

So upon switching this on, the CPU led flashes very briefly before being replaced with the dram led and the code 00. The ram LEDs light up too. At the beginning of all of this the pumps LEDs did work once, also at one point I had gotten the code 15.

Since then, i've q-flash plus'd the BIOS to the latest version, tried one single stick in A2 after resetting the CMOS with the jumper, reseated the CPU, double checked all other cabling, and now I'm out of ideas and hoping I won't have to send something back.

Can anyone advise what to try next? Huge thanks

r/gigabyte on Reddit: X870 Motherboard w/ Bunch of Error Codes and Other Codes Looping After BIOS Update
January 28, 2026 -

So I updated the BIOS from F9 to F10 for the X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 ICE mobo. After that the error codes just start looping ranges from 40-79. Not sure what's the error are but I've attached some of the error code descriptions.

What I've done so far is resetting the CMOS battery, resitting the rams.

Edit: After reading through some post, apparently the F10 update seems to be providing a new "feature". The "error codes" showing after post are actually CPU temp. Not any error codes.

r/gigabyte on Reddit: Gigabyte X870E continues to get stuck on post code 08
November 17, 2024 -

Hey all, first time PC builder here. After putting my new PC together, I've been having problems getting it to boot properly. I've seen a mix of codes but the one I've seen the most is code 08. Here's my build

  • Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite WIFI7

  • AMD Ryzen 9 7950X - cooled by Corsair 420mm AIO

  • Corsair Vengeance DDR5 2x32GB CMH64GX5M2B6600C32 - two kits for 128GB total

  • GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER WINDFORCE MAX OC

  • Corsair RME1000e

  • Samsung 990 Pro 1TB

  • Crucial T705 1TB CT1000T705SSD3

Troubleshooitng steps I've already tried:

  • Removed all the RAM except for 1 stick - mixed success

  • Removed both/Samsung/Crucial drives - no change

  • Removed the GPU - no change

  • Checked the CPU pins, all look fine to me

  • Flashed the bios to a new version - confirmed it updated to F3f from F2 one of the times I got into the bios, no change

  • Unplugged everything and plugged back in to confirm everything was connected good

  • I've cleared the CMOS both by removing the battery and jumping the CMOS connectors, sometimes helps but eventually leads back to code 08.

Other codes I've seen at some point:

  • 64

  • 15

  • 00

  • AD

  • 01

  • 22

  • 99

I've been able to boot into the bios a couple times and everything is recognized when that happens. Also, not sure if it's relavent but after clearing CMOS, it takes awhile to move through code 15. I've read that it might be compatibility issues but I checked and all my hardware should be supported plus the motherboard recognizes it so? I have no spare parts to swap in to check but I can get some, I just want some opinions before I spend more money.

EDIT 1:
Also, I have the AIO connector connected to the CPU_FAN header but I'm trying on the CPU_OPT header now. My fans are the icue link so that's the only fan header I'm using, the icue link hub usb is plugged into one of the bottom usb headers.

Both 8-pin CPU power connectors are in use and the GPU is connected via the included cable, GPU to 2 8-pin.

EDIT 2:
After switching out the GPU cable from the one included with the powersupply to the GPU include splitter, I was able to boot into the windows install usb. I rebooted to check which disk was which and I'm back to code 08, although I did see 00 and 02 a few times as well.

UPDATE - WORKING:

After tons of troubleshooting I went a got a different cpu, ram and mobo. Tested a few different ways and eventually got everything working by just replacing the motherboard, ASUS X870-F Gaming WIFI.

Hi,

I have a X670E Aorus Master, I noticed that after boot my code led switches from AO to 08 and then 0E, system works fine and I can boot all good. Wondering what is wrong? I tried resetting bios default settings too and it still happens. Couldn't find any info online about these 2 codes, anyone had a similar situation?

EDIT: The errors are related to the new beta BIOS, after reverting to F13 codes dissapered.
