Guess who didn’t do enough research into their parts before picking them?
Can anyone give a reliable answer one way or another on whether the Z790M Aorus Elite AX will take a 14700?
I’ve updated the bios (at least it looks like it worked), but the system still won’t post. Not sure if I need to cut my losses and go buy a 13th gen, or if I have a faulty part somewhere. Frustratingly, I’m in a house full of PCs but they’re all old, so pretty useless for parts testing.
Please save my sanity.

Hey folks,
I ended up with the subject Rev 1.1 mobo. I'm seeing some inconsistencies with CPU support... On Gigabyte's website, should I assume my 1.1 is synonymous with the 1.x documentation? The users manual only mentions 1.0 and 1.1, but the website uses 1.0 and 1.x.
-
The box says 12th and 13th gen support.
-
The website product page is inconsistent (see image)
-
The website CPU support page says 14th gen is good for both 1.0 and 1.x (but doesn't call out 1.1)
-
The manual says 14th gen is good, but doesn't call out versions, just says check the website
I just put the CPU in the socket, but have still not put the mobo in the tower or powered it on (waiting for thermal paste delivery). Since I have two days to ponder everything, my question is:
Should I proceed with Rev 1.1 and handle any BIOS/flashing issues as they come? Or should I reevaluate which board I'm using since I'm sticking with the 14900K?
I know I'm overthinking this.
