Difference between Gaming X AX vs Aorus Elite AX Z790 boards
brand new AORUS ELITE AX z790 1.x does not run DDR5@XMP settings
Does the GIGABYTE Z790 AORUS ELITE AX R motherboard support XMP with two sticks of RAM?
Has there been any reported issues with coil noise or whine with the GIGABYTE Z790 AORUS ELITE AX R motherboard?
Will this board support ddr4 ram or does it require ddr5?

I just finished building my new PC and had hoped to have 4 sticks of 16GB DDR5 RAM running at XMP but I'm having issues running games. I was on BIOS FC and just upgraded to FF tonight but while on FC I had a bootable XMP system that would crash on almost any game after a few minutes.
I somehow figured out that XMP might be causing my system instability and sure enough, once it was disabled I had a solid set of gaming sessions.
I count myself lucky that I was able to boot to Windows at all under XMP given what I have been reading lately. I'm not very familiar with RAM timings but I'd like to at least try to run nearly at the rated speed. What would the next logical step be to obtain a stable system with 4 DIMMS near the 6000 mhz speed? I might opt to return 2 sticks as I think a fast 32GB would be a better trade off to a slow 64GB but if I can obtain a stable 5500 or so, then all the better. Thanks for the help.
